Many sellers have been tricked! Does Amazon account verification need to be fully covered?

In recent days, the scope of Amazon account verification has been rapidly expanded, and a large number of old accounts have been pulled out for identity verification. In many seller groups, there have been heated discussions about who has received verification notifications and whether they have experience in passing customs. The account page once crashed, and some sellers said they felt the platform was "brushing people."

This verification is relatively easy for corporate accounts, but the lack of a verification portal for individual sellers has become the biggest problem. Which accounts are more likely to receive verification notifications? What should be paid attention to when submitting information? What are the requirements for the name, address, etc. on the bill? Sellers shared their experiences.

A large number of sellers encountered account verification and Amazon page crashed

Before the May Day holiday, Amazon sellers began to receive notifications that their accounts needed to be re-verified. After the holiday, the number of accounts that received notifications soared, and a large number of accounts, especially old accounts, were affected. Sellers reported a lot of feedback:

"Among the nine old accounts of our company, four have received such questions and are required to submit information."

"My friend passed 2 out of 5 accounts, but the other friend failed completely. "

"Six old accounts have received email notifications one after another. The business licenses of some stores have been revoked long ago. I don't know what to do."

" Accounts from 10 years ago were also pulled out... "

" There are people being verified in the group every day. I feel like I might start to be verified in a few days. "

Yesterday afternoon, a seller encountered a crash of the account information page during verification. The prompt showed that the page encountered a sudden abnormally large amount of traffic and it was recommended to try again after a few minutes.

In the industry's view, this verification tends to cover all accounts. Amazon also requires a lot of information, including the seller's business information, information about the seller's identity, government-issued photo ID, bank account or credit card statement, business license (if applicable). Sellers lamented: " This verification is no less than re-registering an account, and you have to fill out a lot of things. "

But there was a big mistake in this verification. Many personal accounts received the notification, but Amazon did not provide an individual seller verification option at all, which left many sellers speechless.

Da Mi has been an Amazon seller for ten years . Although more and more of her peers are receiving verification notifications, she thought her account would not be verified because it is old. However, soon, Da Mi received notifications for both of her accounts registered in 2014 and 2015 .

Because it was a personal account, there was no personal option in the backend. Dami opened a case and contacted customer service by phone to learn about the details of the information she needed to submit. The replies she received through email were all "You can only wait, you can only verify in the backend, customer service does not have permission", but when she contacted by phone, the other party gave her a new link. In the afternoon, she submitted her ID card and credit card bill through this path, and received an email at 6 pm that the review was completed:

"We have reviewed the documents you provided and completed the verification process. You can now log in to Seller Central and start selling on Amazon..."

However, the verification prompt in the backend of Dami is still there. Another seller also said: "I also submitted it through the link sent by the customer service. The case reply said that the verification process has been completed, but the account information still shows that verification needs to be submitted. I opened another case today and the reply still said that the verification was passed, but the backend verification prompt is still there. The customer service said that the verification prompt will disappear within 5 days. "

A seller with a corporate account referred to the information submitted by Rice and quickly received a verification completion notification. The reply was as follows:

After passing the verification, there are no more verification prompts in the background. The business seller said that he felt that the review was not that strict. He submitted an electronic credit card bill with an address from China Merchants Bank, and the credit card address was consistent with the business license address. But he couldn't help but sigh that this verification was no less than re-registering an account.

Some sellers concluded that this time the main purpose was to verify the normal qualifications of the subject, and the requirements for materials were not high. According to the sellers' personal tests, both corporate bills and credit card bills passed without an address.

Sellers generally have some questions about the information to be submitted. The editor has summarized the experience of sellers who have passed customs clearance for your reference:

A. Answers from Dami (personal account seller):

1. Can I just use electronic credit card bills?

——Electronic version is fine, export it into PDF format

2. The address is different from the business license address. Is it okay?

——There is only one person’s name on my bill, but no address or stamp. The customer service said there is no strict requirement for the address, only the name, which must be the same as the name in the backend.

3. For personal account review, does the background address need to be the same as the ID card?

My two addresses are the same.

4. Are there any requirements for the consumption amount on the electronic credit card bill? Is it okay if there is no consumption?

——No need to spend money, no spending records but also have statements

5. Should the credit card bill be for the most recent month or the most recent three months?

——Any time within 180 days is fine

B. Other sellers’ answers:

1. Should credit card bills be submitted in paper or electronic form?

--It will be all right

2. How to fill in the residential address?

——The company seller replied: Fill in the ID card address, and submit the front and back of the ID card;

3. Is it impossible to cancel the business license? Can I change it to personal in the backend? Will the auditor check the status of the business license online?

——Yes, several business licenses of our company were revoked because they failed the review and were directly closed.

Is the verification path for individual sellers blocked? The technical department is working on it.

Among individual sellers, some who inquired earlier received a link with a verification entrance from customer service, but later sellers were not so lucky. "Customer service did not send the link, but only said that the technical department was processing it and asked me to wait," said a seller.

Another seller's personal account, which was six or seven years old, encountered verification: "I have made two phone calls, but no one gave me a link. They told me to wait. The customer service said that many people have reported this problem and Amazon may have already solved it. The third customer service directly said that a business license is required, saying that Amazon does not allow individual sellers. "

In this reply, the other party stated: "Recently, most individual sellers have encountered account verification problems. This is because we currently do not allow individual sellers in China. Therefore, there is no individual option in the "Business Type" drop-down menu. Sellers need to provide a business license to continue account verification. We do not have a personal verification link and currently do not support personal verification. Please provide a business license."

According to feedback, more than one individual seller was asked to provide a business license. Some sellers were shocked: Is the channel closed? But most sellers think that they should try to contact a few more customer service staff, after all, some customer service staff are really not good enough.

So what is this verification link given by Amazon customer service?

The customer service replied: "If the seller registered in his/her personal name, he/she can click the following link again: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/hz/approvalrequest/register , select China as 'your country/region', and then select the 'individual' option. Please provide all the documents required to open a store in the Amazon US Mall as soon as possible so that we can update your account status. "

Sellers have discovered that this verification path can actually be found in the backend, which is the "Global Seller Identity Verification". So if they call customer service but don't get the link, can sellers directly use this link to submit? A seller who passed the verification said that customer service said they would file and transfer it, and it would probably not work if they submitted it themselves.

Soon, another seller was informed by customer service that the verification issue of individual sellers had been reported to the superior department. If the seller selected the business type, there would be no return in the next step. The technical department was still dealing with the problem of no individual sellers in the business type, but it was not clear when it would be resolved. However, if the seller is affected by this, the platform will adjust the system and re-verify it in the future.

How many hours does it take for the service provider to complete the verification?

After the verification is completed, the seller may also miss the customs clearance email. After a seller submitted the information, she saw a prompt above her account saying "We have received it and it is in process ", but the next day there was no notification or verification prompt in the backend. Did the verification pass? After someone reminded her, she found the email notification in the spam folder.

The scope of account verification this time is very large, and sellers frankly feel that the platform is "brushing people". Service providers also quickly followed up and advertised that it can be done in a few hours, and "Amazon re-verification does not require the provision of information; abnormal license cancellation and expired ID cards are all acceptable." How is this done?

The seller "Amazon Dollar" said bluntly: "Don't ask, the only thing you ask is that one set of information helps countless accounts pass. Amazon uses robots to review, and then slowly conducts a second review manually. Don't ask if there is any correlation!"

In fact, for corporate accounts, this verification is not complicated; but it is very troublesome for individual sellers. There is no verification entrance, and it is difficult to confirm whether it has passed after submission. Therefore, some sellers consider updating their personal accounts to corporate accounts to avoid being worried every time they encounter verification or review.

Seller Charles believes that as long as the company is in normal existence and the identity information has not expired, the application will basically be approved if submitted normally; if the company is deregistered or abnormal, submitting other normal entity information (preferably not registered with Amazon) will also be approved. This applies to personal, individual and corporate accounts.

He said that service providers also have similar operation methods, but the operation of service providers is risky. If the information provided is registered with Amazon, there will be associated risks later. Sellers can refer to it appropriately and pay attention to avoid risks.
