Amazon's "tycoon" site is on the rise, and more than 100,000 sellers may settle in the future

With Amazon’s North American and European sites facing serious “involution” today, almost all sellers are looking for new sources of revenue growth.

In the outside world's impression, the UAE has always been a symbol of "rich people". It has rich oil and natural gas resources, and its chemical, aluminum smelting, tourism and financial industries are developing rapidly. Its per capita GDP exceeds US$40,000.

As Amazon's UAE site gradually develops and improves, more and more sellers are eyeing this new blue ocean market of the future.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said that by 2026, Amazon's UAE site will have more than 100,000 sellers , including local small and medium-sized enterprises.

"Dubai has positioned itself as a thriving digital economy hub," Sheikh Hamdan said on Twitter on Tuesday.

“I am very much looking forward to the future development of Amazon UAE, and I also hope that more and more sellers will settle in and jointly promote the development of the UAE e-commerce industry.”

In January this year, Sheikh Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy in the next decade and consolidate its position among the world’s top three cities.

Ronaldo Mouchawa, vice president of Amazon Mena, said: "We have been increasing our investment to support the digital economy in the UAE. In the future, we will help more small and medium-sized enterprises to enter the Amazon platform and give them access to the massive customer resources on the platform. In addition, building an FBA logistics system in the UAE is also an indispensable part. "

"After joining Amazon, sellers can join the global store opening program and easily sell their products to other countries."

It is understood that Amazon has been laying out the UAE market in recent years. In Abu Dhabi, Amazon invested in building the most advanced warehouse network in the Middle East and opened a large warehouse in the UAE in June last year.

According to Amazon, its goal is to double the number of sellers on its UAE site from 50,000 now to 100,000 by 2026.

It can be seen that both Amazon and the local government are confident in the future development of the UAE site. For sellers, they can also consider deploying the site during the rapid development period. However, since local customs and culture are quite different from those in Europe and the United States, research work needs to be done in advance before deployment.
