According to foreign media reports, the Canadian Ministry of Health recently issued a warning to urgently recall eight products sold on websites such as Amazon, Costco, Canadian Tire, and BuyBuy Baby. The products involve baby products, household items, electronic products and other fields . These products are dangerous and may cause irreversible consequences.
One of the recalled products is three 4moms MamaRoo Baby Swing models sold at Canadian Tire, model numbers 4M-005, 1026 and 1037, and one RockaRoo Baby Rocker model number 4M-012. A total of four baby swings / rockers are involved in this recall .
The reason for the recall is that when the infant bassinet /rocker is not in use, the restraint belt may hang under the seat, causing the infant to become entangled in the restraint belt, posing a suffocation hazard to them.
In addition, two types of blinds were also recalled, namely the For Living brand "1-inch cordless light-filtering white mini blinds" and PVC blinds. The two blinds were recalled for the same reason, both of which did not comply with the Corded Window Coverings Regulations because children could become entangled in the blind cords of these two blinds, posing a risk of strangulation and suffocation.
The last two recalled products are Samsung soundbars, model Soundbar HW-Q67CB and Soundbar HW-Q67 ZC. The reason for the recall is that the connection device is defective and may not work properly. The Canadian Ministry of Health warns consumers to stop using the product immediately and keep all wires away from children.
Foreign media reports show that no child injuries or strangulation reports have been received in Canada regarding the four baby cradles/rocking chairs sold at Canadian Tire. However, in the United States, these baby products are also sold on Amazon and BuyBuy Baby, and 4moms has received reports of two entanglement incidents, including a 10-month-old baby who died of suffocation due to entanglement, and another 10-month-old baby who had bruises on his neck before being rescued by a caregiver, which is extremely dangerous.
The report said that about 70,000 MamaRoos and 10,000 RockaRoos were imported into Canada, and about 2 million MamaRoos and more than 20,000 RockaRoos were sold in the U.S. From May last year to July this year, about 110,000 1-inch cordless light-filtering white mini blinds were sold in Canada, and no accidents or injuries have been reported in Canada.
Most of the above products are best-sellers in Canada and the United States. For the safety of consumers and their families, the sales of the products involved need to be stopped immediately; and consumers who have purchased them need to stop using them, or return them to their local location for replacement or refund.
