Recently, a number of popular products in the US market have been recalled, and sellers must be careful to avoid them.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC) announced an emergency recall of three products sold on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon , mainly involving overhead garage storage racks , children's sleepwear and outdoor parasols .
The first product to be recalled is a FLEXIMOUNTS overhead garage storage rack that measures 4 feet by 4 feet, is black in color, has U-shaped buckle hardware for adjustable height, and the product model is GL44B .
It is understood that the product was sold on online platforms such as Amazon , eBay , Walmart , Wayfair , etc. from October 2020 to April 2022 , with a price of about US$230 , and 17,500 pieces have been sold so far .
The reason for the recall is that a U-shaped clip on the support cable may fail, causing the rack to fall and causing impact injuries to the user .
The CPSC has received 18 reports of U-shaped clasps on support cables failing and storage racks falling from garage ceilings.
CPSC urges consumers to immediately remove items stored on the racks and contact the dealer to receive a free repair kit .
The second product being recalled is the A Memory In brand pink children's nightgown, product number AM003-1 .
The product was sold on Walmart.com from March 2021 to March 2022 for prices between $22 and $28 .
The reason for the recall is that the product does not meet the flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burns to children .
It should be noted that this product is produced in China, and Chinese sellers must conduct self-inspection and stop selling related products.
The third product being recalled is a "SunVilla Corporation" brand solar-powered LED light outdoor parasol.
The product comes in red and blue , has LED lights on the arms , a solar panel on top, and a black cover on the back of the solar panel with "YEEZE" or "YEEZE 1" marked near the top of the cover .
It is understood that the product was sold exclusively on the Costco platform from December 2020 to May 2022 , with approximately 400,000 pieces sold in the United States and approximately 33,000 pieces sold in Canada .
The recall is due to the risk of the lithium-ion batteries in the umbrellas overheating, causing fires and burns .
To date, the CPSC has received six reports of lithium-ion batteries overheating, three reports of umbrellas catching fire while charging indoors, two reports of spontaneous combustion caused by overheated batteries , and one report of injuries to users from inhaling smoke.
It is worth noting that this product is also produced in China.
Product supervision in the US market has always been very strict. Once a product safety issue is discovered, the product will be immediately recalled and removed from the shelves. Therefore, when Chinese sellers going overseas are planning their products, they must strictly control product quality and carefully evaluate product safety issues. Hot Products recall |
