Recalled again! The United States is keeping a close eye on product safety issues on Amazon and other platforms

The safety of children's products has always been a key concern in major consumer markets around the world. However, safety issues in this category continue to emerge, and the probability of recall is higher than that of other categories.

According to foreign media reports, on June 9, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of two children's toys sold on platforms such as Amazon, both of which were "Made in China."

The first is the Activity Loops toy , model 215210, batch number EAN or FCN , and recall number 22-156 . It is understood that this toy was recalled because its tube may fall off the base, releasing the movable ring pieces on the tube and small plastic rings such as football models, posing a small parts choking hazard to children.

Although the recalled toys come from a toy company in Manhattan , they are made in China. Since they were put on the shelves in June 2021 , as of March 2022, about 2,700 pieces of the toy have been sold on major online platforms , priced at about $25.

Manhattan Toys has received three reports of the tube falling off the base , but no injuries have been reported. The toy company is also taking measures such as refunds to compensate consumers.

The second recalled children's toy is the Jungle Jumparoo children's toy , with the recall number 22-750 . The toy was reportedly recalled because its yellow metal rod contained excessive lead, which could cause poisoning or other health problems if accidentally ingested by children .

According to the recall details, the toy is 77 inches * 55 inches * 55 inches ( 195.58cm * 139.7cm * 139.7cm ) in size and is made primarily of metal, including the base and rainbow bars. There is also a black rubber tube with the "Jungle Jumparoo" logo and the words "a wild way to bounce" printed on it .

Coincidentally , the toys recalled this time are also made in China. According to reports, since these toys were put on the shelves in November 2018 , about 350 pieces have been sold on online websites such as Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Fun and Function, JungleJump, The Grommet Flaghouse and Wayfair , with a price of about US$350.

At present, the toy manufacturer has not received any reports of poisoning caused by lead content , but this does not mean that we can relax our vigilance. Retailer Jungle Jumparoo is actively contacting all buyers and replacing metal rods with excessive lead content for free . At the same time, CPSC urges online sellers not to sell related products anymore.

The safety hazards of children's products have always been under close attention of relevant regulatory agencies , and these problematic toys have been revealed to be produced in China many times. In the process of product selection, sellers must pay attention to product safety, product safety and recalls, and avoid losses caused by products with hidden dangers .
