The shopping enthusiasm of British and Americans has been ignited in the “Platinum Jubilee”, and they will spend more than 400 million pounds!

On June 2, Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 70th anniversary on the throne – the Platinum Jubilee.

To celebrate this grand festival, the UK has announced to extend the public holiday (Bank Holiday) on June 2, and hold a four-day "Platinum Jubilee Celebration" from June 2 to 5, which will trigger a shopping frenzy in the UK.

According to new research data released by Emarsys, 9.7 million Britons will make commemorative purchases during the Platinum Jubilee.

The survey found that 41% of British people are excited about the Platinum Jubilee, and 18% of British consumers will buy Platinum Jubilee commemorative coins, commemorative newspapers, commemorative tableware and commemorative T-shirts.

In addition, 58% of British people choose to hold celebrations, and the most popular forms of celebration are watching festivals on TV and holding barbecue parties. Therefore, sales of alcohol, barbecue food, cakes and biscuits, and traditional British food will also increase during the anniversary period.

Surprisingly, Americans were even more enthusiastic about the Platinum Jubilee than the British.

The excitement is driving a royal retail boom, with 48% of Americans planning to stock up on merchandise for the platinum jubilee.

Data shows that 19 % of Americans have been looking for Platinum Jubilee-themed products, including commemorative newspapers, tableware and T-shirts.

At the same time, celebrations are also essential. As many as 49% of Americans plan to celebrate their platinum jubilee, with watching festivals on TV (18%) and hosting barbecue parties (15%) leading the trend. In addition, "traditional British" food ( 12%) is also the choice of many people .

Royal events like the Platinum Jubilee have always been important consumer nodes in the UK market. According to the Center for Retail Research, British consumers are likely to spend around £408 million during the Platinum Jubilee, of which £281.5 million will be spent on souvenirs and gifts.

Americans' enthusiasm for the Platinum Jubilee will also drive a wave of consumption.
