Another peak sales season! 76% of Brazilian consumers plan to shop on Mother’s Day

Recently, All iN partnered with Opinion Box to conduct a Mother’s Day consumer behavior survey among Brazilian consumers.

The survey results show that Brazilian consumers have a strong desire to buy on Mother's Day this year. About 76% of consumers plan to shop on Mother's Day , while 13% are still hesitant and 11% have decided not to buy. Among those who have decided not to buy, 23% do so to save money and 10% do not have the habit of giving gifts.

As for purchasing channels , 49% of consumers said they pay attention to both online and offline channels , 38% of consumers pay attention to brand or retailer websites, and 32% of consumers search on search engines such as Google . In addition , 30% only focus on physical stores, and 20% use social media such as Instagram.

The choice of purchasing method is affected by multiple factors. Data shows that 42 % of consumers value price , 36% of consumers pay attention to product quality , and 32% of consumers say they are driven by promotions .

Despite being known for "last-minute purchases," Brazilian consumers like to plan their purchases and research in advance to find the best value for money gifts . The report shows that 38% of Brazilian consumers have already started researching Mother's Day gift prices , 29% start researching two weeks in advance , 16% start researching about a month in advance , and only 2% start preparing on Mother's Day .

But the current economic situation and high inflation rates have consumers worried , with 80% believing that Mother's Day spending this year may be higher than in 2021 .

Victor Popper, founder and director of All iN, said that prices , cash back, freight discounts, delivery speed , product quality, etc. are all consumer demands, and retailers need to pay attention to them in a timely manner . During the holiday season, if content and promotions that meet consumer expectations can be provided, and the search scope can be more precise, it may stimulate consumers' stronger willingness to consume .

In addition, a survey by the Brazilian Credit Protection Agency showed that approximately 130 million Brazilians are expected to spend on Mother's Day gifts this year, generating sales of 28.16 billion reais (approximately 37.8 billion yuan).

The survey also predicted the best-selling items for Mother's Day in Brazil this year: clothes, shoes or accessories ( 44%), perfume (37%), chocolate (23%) and cosmetics (23%) .

Mother's Day, which is highly valued by overseas countries , is approaching. It is expected that by the day of the festival, sales of various Mother's Day gifts will heat up, and various platforms will also prepare a series of promotional activities. Sellers can pay attention to it in time and make preparations for product selection and supply.
