Formal wear is a hot-selling item on Flipkart

According to Flipkart's sales data for the past two months , the sales share of formal wear on the platform has grown dramatically, with demand for white shirts and suit trousers increasing by 70% and 107% respectively , and sales in the high-end market increasing by more than 100% year-on-year.

 

Apart from this, jackets, hoodies, long-sleeved T-shirts, branded jeans, sweatshirts, sweatpants, sportswear, caps, overalls and jogging pants were also the most searched clothing products on Flipkart in the past two months.

 

Among them, jackets are one of the fastest growing categories in men's clothing, increasing by 120%, indicating a surge in demand from Indian consumers . Some analysts say this is mainly due to the extension of winter and the popularity of outdoor travel . Sales of casual shirts increased by 130%, while sales of sports casual clothing such as sweatpants, sports suits and hats all showed varying degrees of positive growth .


 

In the past three months , the sales of jeans, trousers, suits and suit jackets on Flipkart have increased significantly. Data shows that these categories have increased by more than 50%. Related supporting categories such as sports shoes, casual shoes and socks have also become popular choices for male consumers, while commuter-style tote bags, handbags and other luggage categories as well as high heels are highly concerned by Indian female consumers.

 

Changes in the hot-selling categories of clothing. For female consumers, they also need to choose suitable related accessories, and watches are also attracting the attention of consumers. In addition to clothing categories, Indian consumers also pay extra attention to beauty and cosmetics products. In addition to organic beauty products and personal care products , Indian female consumers are also paying more and more attention to eye makeup products, and their demand has increased sharply. In 2021, sales of cosmetics and perfume categories on Flipkart increased by 46%; and sales of high-end beauty products such as facial steamers and facial beauty devices increased by 55%.

 

It is reported that on April 20, 2022, Flipkart will also launch a summer sale. The holding of promotional activities will undoubtedly be a great opportunity for sellers to increase traffic and transaction volume .
