Amazon said in its announcement: Millions of Amazon customers rely on product reviews to make purchasing decisions. As part of the consumer review tool, the contact customer feature enables registered brand owners to interact with consumers after they leave a negative product review of 1-3 stars .
Monitoring consumer sentiment through consumer review portals is important for identifying and correcting negative reviews for product listings, detecting and reporting abusive negative reviews, and resolving some of the negative reviews from consumers.
Amazon also said that the contact customer feature will allow brand sellers to respond to consumers through email templates that allow sellers to communicate through " customer -seller messages ." Brand sellers can choose to provide a full refund or other requests to resolve negative product reviews.
Under this announcement, some sellers expressed dissatisfaction with this feature. Seller A: If consumers choose to opt out of communication, this feature will be useless. Seller B: I guess we cannot ask consumers who leave negative reviews to delete or modify their reviews during communication, as this may be regarded as manipulating reviews. Seller C: I want to know what Amazon does about fraudulent consumers who intentionally leave bad reviews?
Some sellers have also put forward their own suggestions for solving the problem of negative reviews for Amazon products.
Seller "HS-PICKLES" said: " Why can't we make a public response to negative product reviews ? Even if we manage to reach an agreement with the consumer through the contact consumer function , it is almost impossible for the consumer to modify the negative review .
