The US children's clothing market is recovering, and sports fashion has become a hot trend

As vaccination rates increase and schools reopen for offline instruction and extracurricular activities, the children's clothing market in the United States will see a recovery.

 

Matt Powell, sports industry consultant at NPD Group, said: "The reopening of schools and the restart of sports activities have provided additional impetus to the children's sportswear business this year , and children's products will become the star category of sportswear in the third quarter . "

 

Of course, the benefits of the children's wear resurgence extend beyond sportswear. The global children's wear market was worth about $169 billion in 2018 and is expected to reach $239 billion by 2023, according to Statista.

 

A survey of American consumers by research firm Monitor showed that about two -thirds ( 66%) of parents said that their children have different clothing needs at home and at school, which has driven the growth of consumer demand for different children's clothing .

 

A third ( 33%) of parents said it was because their children wanted to wear more comfortable clothes at home . 23% said their children dressed differently because of personal preference , friends and the media. A further 23% said the school dress code influenced their children's dress. When it comes to buying school uniforms for their children , most parents said they would rather buy trendy styles rather than basics .

 

But whether their kids are at school, at home or participating in extracurricular activities, the vast majority of parents of young children ( 88%) say they prefer their children to wear cotton clothing , according to the Monitor study. Most parents (55%) say they usually check fiber content labels when shopping for their children .

 

According to retail intelligence platform Edited, new brands often succeed in the U.S. children's clothing market . The company said that thanks to Fear of   God, SSENSE, Pac   The US children's clothing market achieved growth in 2021 with the addition of new brands such as Sun and Missguided .

 

Market intelligence and consulting firm Mordor   Intelligence said that many mini versions of adult clothing have also become popular . This is because parents like to post content about themselves and their children wearing parent-child clothing on social media. E-commerce technology company Edited believes that " streetwear that is suitable for both men and women and can show personal style is also becoming popular . "
