Affected by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Germans began to stockpile emergency supplies!

Last spring, Americans started a craze for stockpiling toilet paper. At that time, Americans were staying at home for a long time due to the epidemic, and the demand for toilet paper soared. In the past year, people in European and American countries have also encountered various problems in consumption and shopping due to the epidemic and supply chain.

Just recently, the editor learned that the Germans have also begun to stockpile emergency supplies , not because of the epidemic or the impact of sea transportation, but because of the recent extremely hot situation between Russia and Ukraine . It is understood that since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the German people have begun to stockpile emergency supplies.

It is reported that German people are worried that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine may lead to a cut in Russia's oil and natural gas supply. Therefore, the demand for generators and electric heaters in Germany has increased significantly in recent days. According to foreign media reports, last Thursday alone , German people's demand for emergency generators increased by 186% compared with the previous day .

Judging from Google search trends, Germans have been searching for generators for the past week. Perhaps because they are worried that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine may threaten their survival, the demand for camping stoves is much higher than usual .

According to foreign media reports, Germany's demand for water treatment systems (chemical purification or mechanical filtration) and gasoline tanks has increased more significantly: since February 23rd local time , Germans' inquiries and purchases of water treatment systems have increased by 660%, and inquiries and purchases of gasoline tanks have increased by 1239% .

Of course, in order to deal with possible emergencies, the most important thing is food and water to sustain people's survival. The German Federal Office for Protection and Disaster Aid recommends that all German households should stock up on supplies in times of crisis to ensure that people can survive 10 days without being able to go out shopping .

The most important of these are drinking water , durable food, emergency medicines and battery-powered radios to ensure that German citizens can get timely information when the power supply system fails. However, according to relevant experts, at least two-thirds of people in Germany are not prepared for emergencies.
