Amazon Australia sales hit a new high of $883 million

In the past year, Amazon's sales in Australia were A$1.75 billion , of which sales from the Australian site were A$883 million , a significant increase from A$517 million in 2020. In terms of quantity, the sales volume of goods on Amazon's Australian site increased by 57% over the previous year.

Membership fees are also a major source of income for Amazon in Australia. In 2021, Amazon's revenue from Prime members was 155 million. When it first started in 2019, this source of revenue was only 35.4 million US dollars. In addition, Amazon also has revenue from advertising, which was 63.5 million in 2021 .

In addition to these, Amazon has other businesses, and the cumulative revenue of these businesses reached 471 million, up from 371 million in the previous year .

Of course, revenue growth is generally accompanied by an increase in operating costs, and Amazon is no exception.

It is understood that Amazon now has more than 2,000 employees in Australia , which is double the previous number. Labor costs, plus the related costs of new operation centers and warehouses, Amazon Australia's expenditure in 2021 was 25.7 million, a significant increase from 3.83 million in 2020 .

In addition, Amazon's marketing costs in Australia have also increased, reaching 225.7 million in 2021, compared to just 156.6 million the previous year.

A spokesperson for Amazon Australia said that during this challenging period, Amazon will continue to strengthen its logistics intensity in Australia and create more jobs.

In just four years, Amazon has become one of the main online shopping platforms in Australia. DataFeedWatch said that 55% of Australian consumers go to Amazon to browse.

However, DataFeedWatch believes that consumers now have a wide range of purchasing channels. In addition to Amazon, people can also pay attention to other channels, such as MyDeal. MyDeal focuses on brands that sell large items (such as tables and sofas).

In terms of search engine marketing, Google still dominates. In terms of social media marketing, Facebook remains popular among e-commerce brands. Facebook's Facebook Shops feature simplifies the sales process on Instagram and Facebook, allowing users to easily and efficiently manage delivery tracking and product catalogs.

Pinterest is also a great social media channel for e-commerce sales. With a wide range of marketing features, Pinterest allows users to reach their audience through paid advertising or organic marketing. Organic marketing on Pinterest can be a great option for Australian e-commerce websites. The platform allows users to build brand awareness through content that is forwarded among their audience.
