Winter Olympics closes, Winter Paralympics approaching, demand for winter sports products remains strong

The Winter Olympics closed last night , but the latest sales data from related platforms shows that the demand for winter sports products is growing due to the successful hosting of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and the growing popularity of winter sports around the world. In addition, there is a second winter sports event - the Winter Paralympics , which will open on March 4 .

 

Strong demand for fashionable and technologically advanced winter sports products

 

According to sales data, 2022 will be a milestone in the winter sports equipment market. According to data from the AliExpress platform, sales of winter sports equipment in the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 60% year- on -year, and more and more customers are looking for more fashionable ski suits, goggles and helmets.

 

Ski products with technological features, such as heated ski gloves, have been popular with buyers as they create a more enjoyable experience for winter sports enthusiasts. In the fourth quarter of 2021, sales of heated ski gloves on AliExpress increased 780 times year-on-year.

 

The best-selling winter sports equipment on Alibaba include ski helmets, snowboard sets, ski pants, ski gloves and ski goggles. In particular, sales of ski helmets on AliExpress increased by 1,500% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021 .

 

Russia, the United States, South Korea, France and Spain lead winter sports equipment sales

 

The top five markets for winter sports equipment purchases on AliExpress include Russia, the United States, South Korea, France, and Spain. In addition, since it operates in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, customers in Iceland, Chile, and other remote areas are also able to get the winter sports equipment they need on AliExpress, thanks to its complete logistics ecosystem.

 

The price/performance ratio of ski equipment is particularly favorable for French and Spanish customers. In Spain in particular, sales of ski goggles and ski gloves increased by 100% and 53% year-on-year respectively. In France, customers chose two-layer ski jackets, so the category increased by 72% year-on-year .

 

In Asia, more and more Korean consumers are starting to buy ski gloves and two-layer ski jackets on AliExpress for skiing expeditions.
