Amazon launches new policy to provide free evaluation services to sellers

Amazon has launched a new Vine policy to help sellers get reviews for free, increase product exposure and conversion rate, and thus increase sales. Different from the past, this policy has been praised and recognized by many sellers.

Amazon Vine's new pricing structure is divided into three price ranges. Single ASIN registration for less than or equal to 2 reviews will no longer be charged. This good news has surprised many sellers, who exclaimed that small sellers can finally afford Vine. However, some peers have quietly made small calculations and tried to use unconventional operations to "get something for free".

Starting from 0 yuan, Amazon Vine's pricing structure has been adjusted

Amazon Vine is an exclusive review program launched by Amazon for brand sellers. It is equivalent to an official review method without any risk. The previous fee was $200, that is, the seller paid $200 to Amazon, and the platform helped find someone to do the review.

Because the program is expensive, many sellers are discouraged. Recently, Amazon announced that it will launch a new Amazon Vine pricing structure, starting at 0 yuan, and the new pricing structure is divided into three ranges:

1. $0 (new range): Register up to 2 products per parent ASIN and get up to 2 free Amazon Vine reviews;

2. $75 (new range): Register up to 10 products per parent ASIN and get up to 10 Amazon Vine reviews;

3. $200 (current range): Register up to 30 products per parent ASIN and get up to 30 Amazon Vine reviews.

The new structure includes two new price ranges with lower prices, which is equivalent to Amazon expanding the fee standards of the Vine program. Previously, the starting price was $200, which could be exchanged for up to 30 reviews, but now it has been changed to 0 yuan, which can be exchanged for up to 2 reviews; $75 can be exchanged for up to 10 reviews.

The new fee tiers only apply to products registered for the program on or after October 19. Once an ASIN is registered, sellers will not be able to update it to a different tier or add child ASINs.

It is worth noting that the policy is that the Amazon Vine registration fee is only required when the seller receives the first review within 90 days from the date of registration . Amazon logistics fees and other standard fees still apply.

Many sellers are happy to hear this news, after all, they can get 2 reviews for free. Some sellers said that Amazon has become more humane, while others could not believe it and questioned: "The platform is so kind." More sellers expressed support for the new policy:

“——This is too good, Xiaomai doesn’t even want to spend money on Vine;

——It’s really rare. I never thought Amazon would give it for free. After all, Amazon is so stingy.

——It won’t start until the 19th, but I want it now;

——The previous product had a high value, and it cost $200 even if only 15 reviews were done. Now you can just sign up for $75;

——For Europe, you can register multiple sites and get two more for free;

——The green label collection rate for some categories on the US site is not very high. The segmented charging can save some of the cost, which is really good. "

Sellers wait for free on Amazon

This new adjustment has a 0-yuan entry point, which has led some sellers to think of "getting something for free" from Amazon.

Someone suggested that you can use this to promote new products. First get 2 reviews for free. Having 10 links to positive Vine reviews is relatively good. It is a good strategy for the initial stage of a new product.

A seller made an analogy based on the new policy and thought that after all the operations and a large number of high-quality reviews, he would have a new solution.

Step 1: First, get 30 ASINs (the number is not fixed, 30 is not the end), send only 2 products to all of them, then use them to test 2 free places for Vine and obtain 60 Vine reviews.

Step 2: Select ASINs with good Vine reviews (5-star or 4-star reviews that are good), and then merge them into one parent body, so that the positive reviews of these ASINs are integrated together, and you can get a lot of high-quality Vine reviews for free.

This seemingly clever approach has been praised by some peers, but some sober sellers have warned that this operation will affect Amazon's performance. The platform allows you to reactivate your account without taking further action.

Some industry insiders believe that Amazon’s move is to compete with Temu. Temu’s platform has a price advantage and is growing rapidly. Amazon encourages sellers to give away two products for free, get two reviews (not necessarily two reviews), lower the registration fee, get more people to register, and get more traffic for the platform.

Vine collection rate is low and products cannot be delivered

According to Amazon, participating in the Amazon Vine program can help sellers increase sales by up to 30%, improve product exposure and conversion rates, and discover valuable product insights.

So is Amazon Vine really effective? Some sellers think it is not. One seller said that the Vine take-up rate is very low recently . Two new products were released almost two weeks ago and no one took them up. Another seller gave away two products in July but still has no reviews.

Apparently, after participating in Amazon Vine, many sellers still cannot deliver their products. It is understood that the Vine program does not deliver products to customers for free, but customers need to pay a consumption tax of about 35% before they can receive them.

One aspect here is to see whether the product is popular. Products with high demand will be delivered quickly, while products with average demand will be delivered slowly. No one is willing to pay taxes for products they don't need. Some daily necessities that are used frequently are delivered quickly and the reviews are also returned quickly.

On the other hand, if you look at the price of the product, the higher the price, the higher the tax that customers have to pay. For low-priced products, the shorter the Amazon internal promotion period is, and the faster the delivery is. For example, products priced below $10 are often delivered faster than products priced above $20. Generally speaking, the higher the unit price of the product, the longer the Amazon internal promotion period is, and the slower the delivery is.

Sending out the product is the first step. Good products will get good reviews, while bad products will receive invalid reviews and bad reviews. Some sellers have even been badly cheated by the Vine program.

One seller complained that he recently launched an acne patch for teenage acne and prepared 25 sets (each set worth $103) to participate in the Vine program.

The seller thought he could get some real user feedback, but the result was surprising. One three-star review read: "I don't have acne problems, so I can't tell whether this product is useful." Another review read: "I don't think the effect is very obvious. Maybe it works better on teenagers, but it's average for adults."

This product received a total of 19 reviews, of which 5 were serious reviews of the product, and the other dozen reviews had nothing to do with the product. The seller spent money on Vine, not only did not receive many positive reviews, but most of them were invalid reviews.

With the release of Amazon's new policy, sellers can participate in the Amazon Vine program starting from the 19th of this month and get 2 reviews for free. It will cost more to get more reviews, but one thing is crucial: before sellers participate in the Vine program, they must analyze whether their products are suitable for Vine.
