Are there risks in Amazon’s “Official Review Request” and “Contact Buyer” functions?

Recently, some sellers reported that they received Amazon’s red flag warning when using Amazon’s “Official Review Request” and the newly launched “Contact Buyer” functions.

First of all, since it is a function officially launched by Amazon, it will definitely work if you follow the rules, and it will not have any adverse effects on your account.

Amazon's "Request Reviews" policy clearly states that sellers can use this feature to request buyers to provide reviews within 4 to 30 days after the order delivery date, and only one request can be sent for each order.

Since this function can only be clicked on one order at a time , it is relatively easy to operate for sellers with a small number of orders. However, sellers with a large number of orders need to filter out orders that have been refunded or have left reviews. It is not recommended to use the one-click review request function for orders that have been refunded or have left reviews, otherwise it will easily attract bad reviews. This will require a lot of time and effort.

As a result, some sellers started using software such as Keyshot and Mouse Recorder to replace manual one-click review request. They sent more than a thousand review request emails, but they received a red flag warning on the same day because the reason was “manipulation of reviews”.

In addition, even if some people do not use third-party software to replace clicks, they still need to pay attention to the click frequency when clicking manually. Set a reasonable number of reviews according to your order volume to prevent being "misjudged" due to too many reviews .

In addition to the official review request, Amazon recently launched a new "Contact Buyer" feature that can be used to contact buyers who left bad reviews. However, it has also been criticized by many sellers.

Many sellers have tried to contact buyers who left 1-3 stars, either to resend or refund without return, hoping that they can give feedback about a better shopping experience, but the effect is minimal. Often buyers receive a refund or resend the product, but do not modify the review. After further contact, sellers receive warnings from Amazon even if the email does not mention the word "review". Some sellers have also been permanently banned from active communication rights.

In short, official review requests are still one of the safest ways to get reviews from buyers, but you need to control the frequency and quantity of review requests. You should not contact buyers too frequently just to ask them to modify their reviews, otherwise you will receive a warning or even be permanently banned from active communication.
