In Amazon's business operations, shipping costs are definitely an issue that cannot be ignored.
Recently, on the Amazon seller forum, the editor found that some foreign sellers posted comments complaining about the "Shipping Adjustment" issue.
This seller said that in addition to being charged over $3,000 in fees over the past two weeks , there are about $10,000 or more in "other fees"/shipping adjustments . After opening 8 cases, this matter has still not been effectively resolved - no emails and no replies. This seller believes that there should be no other fees for purchasing labels through Amazon and entering the correct size and weight (of the package).
At the same time, the seller compared his previous expenses with the current ones. About a year and a half ago, when the seller's sales were $100,000, the other expenses were about $150; now, when the seller's sales are $3,400, the other expenses have reached $3,800. In other words, the seller sold $3,400 worth of goods but lost $400 . Another reason that makes sellers angry is that these problems have not received effective responses and help from Amazon. Below this post, the seller mentioned that when he called Amazon an hour ago, his balance was negative 380, and now (at the time of posting) it is negative 480 .
According to the data, "Shipping Adjustment" is usually caused by inaccurate package information provided at the time of shipment, so the carrier needs to adjust the information to ensure that the package can be delivered accurately and the full amount of fees are charged. "Shipping Adjustment" may generally be caused by the weight or size of the package not matching the actual weight, the postal code of the sender or the recipient not matching, the wrong package type, etc.
What is worrying is that this is not the only seller who encountered similar problems. Many sellers in the post said they had the same experience:
“ I had the same thing happen to me last week and got 1,400 freight adjustments in one day ! They adjusted almost every order from 3 months ago . ” “… all carrier-approved dimensions match exactly what we provide when purchasing labels through Amazon …USPS (the carrier) refuses to help and directs people to Amazon, who in turn endlessly directs people back to USPS. ”
“ I had the same issue with my order . Amazon doesn’t calculate the dimensional weight but the carrier does … and charges more… After already paying UPS (the carrier) over $2,000, the audit fees (the fees the carrier adds after auditing the package) added another $2,000 . ”
Another seller said that when he first saw these "Other Charges" (other charges, including delivery fees, advertising fees, service fees, etc.), he didn't know what they were, and he didn't get an answer after emailing Amazon. He once wondered why the weight and measurement of his package deviated so much, resulting in additional charges, and now he knows that many people have encountered this situation. This seller said, "We can't all be wrong."
However, this situation is not limited to Amazon. One seller reported that he did not encounter this situation on Amazon , but on eBay, UPS gave a 33% fee adjustment, which the seller believed was "almost unfounded . " Amazon Freight Adjustment |
