On April 6, Indian social e-commerce platform Meesho announced on Monday that it had completed a new round of financing of US$300 million. After this round of financing, the company's market value has reached US$2.1 billion, making it the fifth startup in India to join the "Unicorn Club" in 2021.

 

Amazon Logistics Europe offers first-mile freight subsidies to new Chinese sellers

 

Recently , Een.com learned from Amazon Global Store that Amazon Logistics in Europe has launched a limited-time subsidy promotion for the first-leg transportation costs of warehouse entry for new Chinese sellers. Qualified sellers can receive a subsidy for warehouse entry costs, up to about 180 euros. This promotion is applicable to professional sellers who use FBA for the first time in Europe, and sellers need to send the products to the European Amazon operation center before May 31 and sell the products through FBA.

 

UPS adjusts shipping prices for eBay sellers  

 

It is reported that UPS has announced rate adjustments for all its shipping services through eBay tags. Starting April 11, 2021, UPS will reduce shipping rates by 3.5% for packages with lighter weight and shorter transportation distances; for heavier packages with longer transportation distances, rates may increase by 5%. In addition, in order to further reduce sellers' shipping costs, UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air services do not charge additional shipping fees similar to UPS residential or delivery area fees.   

 

Flipkart adds Bengali and Odia languages

 

Recently, Walmart's e-commerce platform Flipkart added two local languages ​​of India, Bengali and Odia, which buyers can use to shop. It is understood that Flipkart's move is to capture the rural market of more than 200 million buyers in India. Currently, Flipkart already supports seven local languages ​​in India, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, etc.

South Korea's SK Group acquires stake in Vietnamese retail giant VinCommerce

 

South Korea's SK Group has acquired a 16.3% stake in Vietnamese retail giant VinCommerce for US$410 million, demonstrating the group's Southeast Asian business expansion strategy.

 

VinCommerce controls 50 percent of Vietnam’s retail market, operating about 2,300 convenience stores and supermarkets.   SK Group said VinCommerce is expected to grow into an omni-channel operator that combines online and offline businesses like Alibaba and Amazon, and said the acquisition is an investment in the future Southeast Asian distribution value chain.

On April 6 , Shoptago, the new owner of the cross-border independent station building SaaS platform , announced the permanent closure of the platform. After the new owner Shoptago stops operating, the team will all return to Ueeshop's service system, focusing on serving vertical independent station sellers, platform transformation sellers, and DTC independent station sellers of domestic brands going overseas.
