Sellers who sell products on the Amazon platform are aware that some buyers will buy multiple items in one order, but most buyers will keep the products they are satisfied with and return some of the items. However, on some orders, even if the platform only receives a partial return, it will still provide a full refund.

 

Recently, an Amazon seller reported that his buyer purchased four products in the same order but only returned one. However, Amazon provided a refund for all four products and told the buyer that he could keep the products for free.

 

The seller then began to file a complaint for the three products that were not returned, providing photos of the product packaging and the actual items, as well as screenshots of Amazon's communications with the buyer, but was quickly rejected. The platform then required photos of the returned items and the original packaging, which the seller provided as required but was still rejected.

 

Many sellers have said that they have encountered this situation many times, but Amazon does not accept the seller's appeal at all! However, some sellers have provided some solutions, as follows:

 

1. After being rejected, continue to appeal using Amazon's relevant policies and request to appeal the case to the supervisor ; (some sellers said that after appealing 4 times, they finally got back the over-deducted refund amount)


2. Try to copy and paste the first appeal content each time you appeal ; (some sellers said they finally got a 50% refund)


3. The content of the appeal should be brief, professional, and to the point. Do not add any personal or emotional language, otherwise you may receive a notice from Amazon that "we may not respond to further inquiries";


4. When providing photos of returned products, be sure to take a photo of the address label.

 

Through these methods, insisting on appealing can usually get a half or even full refund . As the platform's profit margins are getting smaller and smaller, any deductions and compensation will have a great impact on the product's profits.

 

However, some sellers said that the difficulty of obtaining a full refund seems to fluctuate from time to time. Amazon may have reservations or quotas for handling such cases. The platform may have analysis of total order volume and thresholds for the performance of each buyer, seller, or ASIN. Of course, the time period for appeal may also affect the success rate of the case.
