Is there a trend of "dismissals" at the end of the year? Operations: Being forced to resign and being PUA...

Recently, there have been frequent reports of employees being fired in the cross-border industry, causing panic among many cross-border workers. One cross-border worker lamented: It is hard to imagine how it feels when you are busy writing your year-end summary and suddenly find out that you have been fired...

Fired at the end of the year! Operations: Not paying social security and being PUA

An operator said that he was dismissed by the company near the end of the year . The reason given by the company was that there were problems with his work ability and attitude, and the company was unwilling to give the operator compensation.

"I later won some compensation, but it was less than half a month's salary," the operator said. During this process, the company threatened to transfer him to another position, forced him to resign, and used PUA to point out various problems in his work. Regarding the company's refusal to pay social security and its dismissal, the operator said, "It seems wrong for employees to fight for their own interests, and they said they were dismissing people at the end of the year for my sake."

In response to the operation's experience, many sellers expressed their opinions, "Social security must be paid, it is recommended to take legal action directly", "It is recommended to record the evidence to protect your own interests", "When encountering such a situation, you can only relax and think of it as taking a holiday early to go home and spend time with your family"...

According to practitioners, there seem to be many operators who have similar experiences in the cross-border industry. One operator said that his former company used the same tactics as the company that fired him. They first forced him to resign on the grounds of his poor work attitude and performance. Only after he proposed to take legal action did the company say it was willing to pay him half a month's salary.

As the end of the year approaches, various things are happening in the cross-border circle, and the experiences of cross-border workers are also different...

An operator said that his company does not pay year-end bonuses during the Spring Festival, and wages are deducted during the Spring Festival holiday . "The annual leave is 13 days in total, 7 of which are legal holidays, and wages for the remaining 6 days are also deducted . I am new to the industry and don't know if this is normal..." the operator said.

Resignation, dismissal... incidents like these have occurred one after another in the industry. Many cross-border workers feel uneasy, and the idea of changing jobs has repeatedly come to their mind, and they can't help but ask the question "Should I change careers next year?"

An operations officer who has made up his mind to change careers next year lamented: "Although changing careers means starting from scratch and the salary will be greatly reduced, which is indeed very harmful to my career, the company's system really makes me unable to stay here for another day." In the eyes of many cross-border workers who want to quit or change careers, difficult work and poor performance are not the key points for deciding to quit. What really makes them want to quit is the company's system and certain leaders.

Regardless of the industry, when looking for a job, in addition to focusing on salary and benefits, company strength and potential , they also pay more attention to whether the company treats employees humanely and whether it can protect employees' basic rights . These seem to be the top priorities for cross-border workers...

Deducting 2 times the base salary as commission, the operation said it was "very bad"

"I'm not afraid of anything, except working for a weird company." This is the voice of many cross-border workers.

Recently, a cross-border e-commerce operator who has resigned talked about his " weird experience " and said that he had worked in a startup company with only three employees, including the boss, a part-time employee and himself. The boss's daily job was to give us inspirational quotes and urge us to place orders.

"I joined the company at the end of July. According to the contract, I would be paid a commission if the performance reached the target in August. However, the boss withheld the commission for two months. I finally waited until October, but the boss told me that the commission would be calculated based on 2 times my base salary. However, the contract stated that it was calculated based on the store's profit. Why did they deduct 2 times my base salary for no reason?" said the operator.

According to the operator, his commission is based on the store's profit, but the boss will cut part of his commission, which is deducted by twice his base salary.

In addition, the operator also expressed frustration, saying that basically every time he asked for a commission, it was like fighting a tough battle with the boss, and he could only get the commission after a long battle. "It has become common for wages to be deducted and delayed," the operator also said.

Not only that, there are also operations personnel currently working there who accuse HR of "selling dog meat under the guise of mutton". Before the interview, they were told that they were interviewing for Amazon Boutique, but after they arrived they found out that it was for other platforms. Since they all looked like boutique companies, the operations personnel chose to join the company.

But after I joined the company, I found that the company had been painting a rosy picture for itself. During the interview, they said that I would be a team leader and would be given a team to manage, but after I joined, I found that these were all empty words...

At first, the company did not require overtime, but later the boss said that if you want to become a regular employee, you must meet two requirements: first, the length of overtime, which proves a good work attitude; second, performance, as the company's purpose is that working hours should be greater than work ability.

Faced with this situation, the operator expressed his sincere regret: “ I want to run away and don’t want to be forced to work overtime .”

On a certain website, a large number of cross-border e-commerce workers also held a "2020-2021 Cross-border E-commerce Company Worst Employer Selection Campaign", which was full of various complaints about certain cross-border e-commerce companies.

Because I failed to meet my sales targets, the company forced me to eat bitter melon, and I felt that my dignity was insulted.

The working atmosphere is amazing. My supervisor is keeping an eye on me from all directions, even when I go to the toilet.

Fines for playing with mobile phones, fines for wearing headphones, fines for not turning off the computer, fines for not turning off the fan...

The HR said that if I didn’t go for the interview, he would sue me.

As for the current situation, many companies have the " complaint phenomenon " , which is mainly due to the different positions and perspectives of employees and bosses, which leads to different opinions .

At this time, it is crucial for employees and companies to strike a balance between the two sides.

For enterprises, they should focus on reflection, especially when some enterprises have high staff turnover and difficulty in recruitment operations. They should reflect on whether the company treats employees well and gives them a sense of belonging, so as to achieve the goal of retaining talent.

For those who need to find a job, they cannot judge a company based solely on its superficial strength, qualifications and size. They should also focus on understanding the company's boss's three outlooks, attitude towards employees, methods of handling things, and relevant requirements for employees, as well as the company's working atmosphere.

Just as no one is perfect, there is no perfect job in the world . As the end of the year approaches, job seekers who are currently in the job-hunting stage should make rational analysis, be cautious to avoid pitfalls, adjust their expectations and mentality, and not generalize everything, so as to better integrate into society and gain a foothold in the workplace.
