Contabilium is an online billing and management system for small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. The system recently released its annual sales report for 2021. From the statistics of invoices issued by enterprises on the system in 2021, we can understand the country's sales situation last year.

They surveyed more than 5,000 users in Argentina, including small and medium-sized enterprises registered in online management and billing systems , and found that the number of sales in physical channels and online stores in Argentina increased by 71.08% in 2021 compared with 2020.

In terms of turnover, Argentina's omnichannel stores, including physical and online sales, increased by 126.08% in 2021 compared to 2020. The amount of invoices issued by small and medium-sized enterprises on Contabilium reached a total of 140 billion pesos. In 2020, this figure was only 62 billion pesos, more than doubling the amount.

According to Contabilium CEO Leandro Halfon , the technology category is the most in demand, followed by furniture, clothing and footwear, which contributed greatly to Argentina's sales last year.

According to Contabilium statistics, online sales increased by 108.93% in 2021, with a turnover of 58.961 billion pesos. In 2020, the turnover was 28.22 billion pesos, nearly doubling year-on-year.

Data shows that Argentina's e-commerce market is growing at a rate of 20% per year , and the total size of the e-commerce market reached US$6.8 billion in 2021. It is expected to reach US$10 billion by 2024.

Before shopping, 81% of Argentines will search online first, and nearly 55% of people in the country will choose to shop online. In addition, clothing, electronic products, and footwear are the three most popular categories. Therefore, when merchants are planning to enter the Argentine market, they can spend more time on online promotion, which can increase the chance of exposure in consumers' searches before shopping, thereby increasing sales.

MercadoLibre is the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America and is also known as the Latin American version of eBay. Its market share in Latin America is higher than that of eBay and Amazon. Sellers who are interested in entering the Latin American market can pay more attention to this platform.

With the rapid development of various cross-border platforms, Latin America is still underdeveloped, which means it is a market with great development potential. Sellers can also find many development opportunities here if they do a good job of investigation and preparation.
