Temu may be open to third-party sellers from the United States!

With its brainwashing appearance in the US Super Bowl for two consecutive years, Temu has been gaining more and more attention in the US. According to foreign media reports, Temu will soon be open to third-party sellers in the US.

Third-party sellers on Temu have traditionally come from China, with more than 100,000 Chinese sellers selling goods on the platform, according to estimates by research firm Marketplace Pulse.

In the opinion of industry insiders, the move to open the US site to local sellers not only enhances Temu's competitiveness in the United States, but also serves as a way for the platform to establish friendly cooperative relations with local companies.

In addition, this is also Temu's way to increase the stickiness and loyalty of local American users to the platform.

Although Temu's sales in the United States exceeded $9 billion last year, a recent survey by KeyBanc showed that 30% of American users who visited Temu in September also used the site in October. But in December, this figure dropped to 14%, which means that Temu's appeal to American users may be declining.

However, this move will also make competition among U.S. e-commerce platforms more intense. After all, in order to expand their market share, major U.S. e-commerce platforms are working hard to attract new sellers.

In addition to old leading companies such as Amazon, companies such as Walmart, Target, and Macy's may be affected.

However, whether this move can attract the people Temu wants to attract remains to be seen. According to foreign media, due to price and brand image considerations, some American suppliers may not be willing to see their products appear among a large number of super-low-priced Asian products.

In addition, Temu has recently been controversial in the United States as the source of a large influx of cargo. According to Cargo Facts Consulting, 4,000 tons of Temu packages are shipped to the United States every day, directly causing air cargo congestion over the Pacific.

It is worth mentioning that Temu’s strategy for the European market is almost the same as that for the United States, which inevitably makes people speculate when Temu will. As another important market for Temu, Temu has become one of the top ten cross-border e-commerce platforms in the region in just a few months.
