Take it off the shelves! GBC Law Firm has another new case

As an old friend in the cross-border circle, GBC Law Firm has always been active in the sellers' sight. Recently, GBC has two new cases, namely Celine and Nipsey Hussle.

Celine

Celine is a high-end fashion brand from France. It was founded in 1943 by French designer Celine Verpina and her husband. Headquartered in Paris, France, it is one of the luxury brands under the LVMH Group and has been selected as one of the world's top 500 brands.

The brand includes a variety of high-end fashion products such as small bags, clothing, shoes, perfumes, jewelry, etc. This is the second case against the brand since last year. The case was initiated on September 8, with the case number 21-cv-4775.

The information that the seller may infringe is the Celine word trademark and the iconic logo . For Celine word trademark, generally, for such a big brand, sellers will not directly put the brand name in their own listings, which is the lowest and most obvious infringement. At the same time, remember to avoid the iconic logo, and very similar imitations will also face the risk of infringement.

By searching on the patent website, it is found that Celine has countless patents. A small detail may lead to a dispute, so sellers should be careful to avoid it.

Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle is a rapper from the United States. His representative works include " Proud of That" and "Face the World". He was shot and killed on March 31, 2019. Although he passed away, his works are still loved by many people. In order to commemorate him, fans will also buy some peripherals as a souvenir.

But sellers should be aware that " Nipsey Hussle " is a word trademark . For example, in China, "the same style as a certain celebrity" is quite common on various e-commerce platforms. Using the celebrity's name is a good way to attract traffic, but it is different abroad. Using it in the listing will result in a lawsuit, so sellers should not use it.

In addition to word trademarks, various related graphic logos and song information are also not allowed to be touched. Many well-known singers, album covers or lyrics are likely to have registered patents, so sellers of famous brands should avoid them and never take chances.

Searching on Amazon, you will find that there are many products with "Nipsey Hussle" and "Celine" in the listing. If there are sellers with this situation, they should be removed from the shelves immediately. Sellers should still focus on themselves and not take shortcuts to "grab traffic".
