Newegg adds cryptocurrency payment method!

On November 29, North American electronics retailer Newegg announced that it will accept Shiba Inu (SHIB) cryptocurrency as a payment method during the holidays . The company said it had officially announced the news through a large-scale digital outdoor campaign displayed on The Reef , the largest DOOH billboard in North America .

Newegg stated on its official website that as a pioneer in the crypto space , the company became the first major e-commerce company to accept Bitcoin as a payment method in 2014 through its partnership with BitPay . Subsequently, Newegg was the first to accept Dogecoin in early 2021 and Litecoin in July. Yesterday, Newegg also stated that it will begin accepting SHIB in early December to further meet the needs of consumers who want to use cryptocurrency payments on Newegg .

From Newegg official website

Andrew Choi, Newegg's director of brand marketing , said the company is always looking for ways to innovate the shopping experience on its platform , and its customers want greater flexibility and choice, including the ability to pay with a variety of cryptocurrencies. Through its partnership with BitPay, the company has the ability to move quickly and lead the market with flexible cryptocurrency payment options. To this end, Newegg offers SHIB as a payment option.

Newegg has added new payment methods during the holiday shopping season , which has also given consumers more payment options on the platform. After Black Friday, Newegg is also starting Cyber Monday sales. During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the platform has launched different promotions for headphones, computer hard drives, computer cases, etc.

It is understood that this year Newegg extended the Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions to the end of November, providing customers with Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts for 9 consecutive days. By extending the time, both buyers and sellers can benefit on the one hand, and on the other hand, it is also conducive to the sales growth of the platform.

Previously, Newegg officials had predicted that the company expects to achieve approximately $1.2 billion in net sales in the second half of the year ending December 31, 2021. For the full year ending December 31, 2021, the company expects net sales to be approximately $2.4 billion. In addition, the company also announced that it will expand to two new distribution centers in Atlanta, Georgia and Ontario.
