Fraudulent orders frequently appear, Amazon sellers share their experience in dealing with them

Recently, the editor learned from the official Amazon seller forum that a seller solved the problem of fraudulent orders in his own way and shared his experience in handling it.

The seller , electronics-reseller, said that because of the large amount of his order, he was targeted by the fraud gang. After placing an order, the fraud gang asked electronics-reseller to send the goods via FedEx, but ignored the signature requirement, somehow redirected the FedEx package to another address, and submitted a non-receipt claim before the deadline. After realizing that this was a scam, the seller stopped shipping FedEx packages and asked the fraud gang to remove the expensive internal components from the system and return them.

Later, electronics-reseller shared his experience in handling fraudulent orders:

1. Orders require an adult signature for delivery

2. The seller needs to accurately record all serial numbers

3. Almost exclusively use UPS to ship packages, as they appear to be the most reliable carrier option

4. Take the following still photos and save them as evidence

①Products before packaging

② Products in shipping boxes, open the boxes to display the quantity units

③ Sealed shipping box with shipping label displayed

Electronics-reseller successfully avoided attacks by fraud gangs through practical operations, and a large number of sellers also expressed their opinions on how to deal with fraudulent orders in the forum.

Seller A: Sellers can link their UPS account to Amazon so that they can ship through Amazon. This provides additional protection for AZ claims (mainly INR). If the seller ships on time, AZ protection will take effect. But it is worth noting that if the seller connects the UPS account to Amazon, the seller needs to pay an additional rate.

Seller B: I think high-value products require a direct signature from the consignee. We have received a statement from AZ that the signature was forged, so we switched all high-value products to DIRECT SIGNATURE , which completely solved the problem of missing credentials caused by signatures.

Seller C: It sounds like you're taking good precautions, but you didn't mention recording the serial number on your packing slip. If you haven't already done so, I recommend including the serial number on your invoice or packing slip, preferably printed on a label, or at least a digital stamp filled in manually. This is useful for honest buyers to keep track of, and it's also a warning to scammers that you have the serial number on file.
