Solid skin care products are hot-selling in the European and American markets, with annual sales reaching 2.4 million pounds!

When consumers are purchasing goods, packaging is an important factor in determining the transaction . With the general trend of green environmental protection, beauty products with environmentally friendly packaging are becoming increasingly popular.

According to research data from market research firm The NPD Group, sales of stick and solid skin care products reached 2.4 million pounds from March 2021 to March 2022, with sales of solid facial cleansers increasing by 15% during this period.

Previously, solid skincare products might have only appealed to environmentally conscious consumers, but recent launches of eco-friendly packaging from brands such as Garnier, Typology and Drunk Elephant have pushed them into the mainstream.

Green and environmental protection is the most obvious advantage of solid skin care products. Since the sticks are easily stored in recyclable cardboard, the use of plastic packaging can be reduced and the ecological environment can be protected .

Environmentally friendly products have now become a focus for more and more brands . Andy Shaw, co-founder of Grüum, which has just launched solid skin care products , said that since solid skin care products contain almost no water , the volume of the product is much smaller than that of liquid skin care products . This means that solid skin care products are lighter and easier to transport, so the carbon emissions generated are also lower .

With the strengthening of environmental awareness, environmentally friendly skin care products are becoming more and more popular in the European and American markets .

According to data from market research firm Mintel , 8% of British people used cleansing sticks in 2020, and the number of users increased significantly to 12% in 2021. In addition, 43% of women worldwide have begun to pay attention to environmentally friendly beauty products and are willing to increase spending on related products .

Moreover, a "trend" of waterless cosmetics has swept the French cosmetics industry , with the emergence of a large number of solid waterless products, such as stick masks, waterless makeup removers, waterless creams and other products .

Mintel mentioned in "Global Beauty and Personal Care Trends 2030" that in 2030, zero waste should become mainstream, and replacing environmentally friendly packaging for beauty products and using cruelty-free product ingredients will become reasons for consumers to pay.

Therefore, in recent years, more and more beauty companies have begun to launch products with environmentally friendly packaging. This will be the general trend of the future market and will also drive a new wave of purchasing craze.
