Launched in September 2020, Flipkart Wholesale is the online wholesale business of Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart. Flipkart Wholesale covers 23 major cities in India. As a B2B e-commerce platform, Flipkart Wholesale mainly sells clothing and footwear products, including men's clothing, women's clothing, children's clothing, Western fashion clothing and traditional ethnic clothing.
On Wednesday, Flipkart Wholesale issued a statement saying it will add grocery categories to its platform and operate a large logistics distribution center in Gurugram to provide better and faster delivery services to small retail stores as well as grocery stores.
The service will be piloted first in Gurugram and will be gradually expanded to other grocery stores and small retail stores across India.
Flipkart Wholesale’s newly added grocery categories include more than 350 brands of grocery items (packaged foods such as snacks, packaged biscuits, packaged snacks, etc.), household cleaning products (such as laundry detergent, bleach, etc.), and personal care products (such as shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, etc.).
Flipkart Whalesale, backed by Flipkart, naturally has its own traffic. According to previous reports, since Flipkart was launched in September last year, the platform's transaction volume has increased by 90% month-on-month, and the customer base has increased by 75% month-on-month, which is a very rapid development.
The launch of new services will help the platform further expand its user base. First, on the seller side, the addition of new categories will allow grocery suppliers to enter the platform, and the platform's seller base will be further expanded. On the buyer side, cooperation with a large number of Kirana stores, grocery stores and other retail stores will enable the platform's buyer base to grow steadily.
The epidemic is one of the important reasons that prompted Flipkart Wholesale to add grocery categories. Thanks to the epidemic blockade, India's e-grocery market has developed rapidly and is showing a trend of sustained growth. Data from relevant forecasting agencies show that by 2025, India's online grocery market will reach US$24 billion.
Based on the growth of the market, competition among Indian grocery e-commerce platforms is becoming fierce, but Flipkart Wholesale has incomparable advantages compared to other platforms .
Flipkart is the largest e-commerce platform in India, with more than 100 million users. Although Flipkart Wholesale has been established for less than a year, Flipkart will provide it with financial, talent, technology, experience and other support to help it achieve stable development. Therefore, for cross-border sellers, this platform will be a good choice. Cross-border e-commerce E-commerce platform E-commerce market |
