The least competitive? The US site has become a hot spot for Amazon sellers

The US site has always been the preferred site for Amazon sellers, mainly because its consumption level and market size are at the top of the e-commerce platform. Many sellers believe that Amazon's US site has the largest number of sellers and the strongest competitiveness, but this is not the case.

Recently, Marketplace Pulse published a survey report stating that although Amazon's US site has the most saturated number of sellers among all major sites, it is also one of Amazon's sites with the weakest competition.

According to Marketplace Pulse, sellers on Amazon US receive more traffic on average than sellers on other Amazon sites. For example, the average monthly visits of sellers on Amazon UK is only half of those on Amazon US, while the average monthly visits of sellers on Amazon Canada is only a quarter of those on Amazon US.

Therefore, although there are fewer sellers on sites other than Amazon's US site, their competitiveness is not necessarily lower. The main reason is that the consumption level and market size of other sites are lower than those of the US site.

According to survey data, the United States, Japan and Germany are the most important markets for Amazon, with average monthly visits ranking in the top three; followed closely by the Turkish and Brazilian markets, where there are fewer sellers and relatively low competition. In addition, Amazon's European sites, such as Spain, France and Italy, also have relatively high average monthly visits. This is because European countries are closely connected, and the pan-European sales method has led to many Amazon sellers. Currently, the most competitive markets are the Netherlands, Sweden and Poland. This is because Amazon launched these sites too recently and has failed to form an effective influence in the local e-commerce market.

However, this data is incomplete without considering the scale of demand. Even though Brazilian and Turkish sellers have ample room to grow, they are still orders of magnitude smaller than the scale of Amazon US.

Marketplace Pulse shows that Amazon's US site accounts for half of Amazon's total global market traffic, and the transaction volume of the US site also exceeds half of its global total GMV. The overall consumer power of the American people and the huge consumer market provide sellers with sales opportunities, and every seller can share this biggest piece of the pie.
