In other European countries, well-known e-commerce platforms account for the majority of e-commerce sales, but Sweden is a little different. Local consumers prefer to shop through retailers' websites.
Various e-commerce giants such as Amazon and Zalando have also penetrated the local market, but the fact is that local small platforms are taking an increasingly larger share in e-commerce . My Mall is one of them.
My Mall was founded in 2016 with the original intention of helping physical stores develop e-commerce. After changing its leadership in 2018, it began to transform and shift its focus to online sales. Physical stores are no longer part of the strategy, with the aim of attracting more seller groups.
Compared with e-commerce platforms in other European countries, My Mall is relatively small in scale. Although there are only a few hundred sellers at present, it is still in a state of continuous growth and is the fastest growing e-commerce platform in the local area.
My Mall's active markets are mainly in the home and leisure sectors. According to official sources, the current monthly sales are more than 90,000 euros, and the annual target is to achieve sales of 900,000 to 1 million euros.
My Mall also has extensive development plans. It not only plans to penetrate into other Nordic regions, but also plans to launch new brand platforms, expand the range of its own products, and says it will turn certain sellers into "premium sellers."
My Mall is just one example. Under the influence of the epidemic, Sweden's overall e-commerce market has grown significantly since last year. Not only has e-commerce sales increased significantly, but the related industrial chains have also had greater development opportunities. For example, some time ago, the local payment company Klarna was launched in Poland.
According to a survey of European consumers, "buy now, pay later" is quite popular in the local market. Many people said that if there is a delayed payment option, the success rate of placing an order will be greatly improved. While entering the Polish market, Klarna also launched the "buy now, pay later" service in cooperation with H&M. In addition to the local market, Klarna is currently active in many European countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands .
Although Sweden is a small market, it has certain potential, and interested sellers can also learn about local preferences. Sweden Europe Cross-border e-commerce |
