Shenzhen presses the "pause button", and many freight forwarding warehouses suspend receiving goods!

The building was closed in the morning, the city was closed at noon, operations were suspended in the afternoon, people had to scramble for food and move computers at night, and there was an earthquake in the middle of the night.

For workers who are deeply involved in the cross-border e-commerce industry, "you can get hurt and bleed, but you can't lose your job." Therefore, when Shenzhen implemented a closed policy, they all started to work hard: those who work from home moved their computers, those who work in the office slept on the floor, and if all else failed, they bought a small electric car. At the same time, some freight forwarding companies have issued announcements stating that their warehouses have suspended receiving goods due to the epidemic, which has a self-evident impact on cross-border sellers.

Shenzhen implements a closed policy, and many freight forwarding companies’ warehouses have suspended receiving goods

Yesterday, the Shenzhen Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Command issued an announcement, stating that in order to effectively control the risk of the spread of the epidemic, it will implement closed management of all communities in the city, and announce a series of measures, including suspending the city's public buses and subways, requiring government agencies and institutions to operate from home, requiring non-urban security enterprises to stop operations or work from home, and conducting a third round of nucleic acid testing.

As of 0:00-24:00 on March, Shenzhen had 86 new cases, 75 of which were diagnosed as confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11 were diagnosed as asymptomatic carriers of the new coronavirus ; 38 were found during the screening of close contacts under quarantine, 8 were found during screening in key areas, 1 was found during screening of key populations, and 39 were found during community screening.

Based on the current situation, some cross-border e-commerce companies have issued announcements, temporarily deciding to work from home from March 14 to 20, and requiring employees to test the Internet speed at home to ensure the operation of the work at home. A Shenzhen worker who was carrying a computer host up the stairs said, " Other cities do nucleic acid testing to save lives, while Shenzhen workers do nucleic acid testing to go to work and keep their jobs. "

The work-from-home mode has begun. During this period, some service providers have also taken action and launched "free services". During the epidemic, this is a timely help for cross-border workers and sellers.

At the same time, freight forwarders in Shenzhen are also quite bold. On the night of March 13, several freight forwarders said they were shipping and loading goods overnight, and their company warehouses would stop receiving goods on the 14th . The Shenzhen company headquarters implemented home office from March 14th to 20th.

"When the epidemic was severe, others were busy rushing to buy food, but we, the cross-border logistics people, were busy rushing to load containers and do our best to ensure that the timeliness of our customers was not affected," said a freight forwarder. According to the notices issued by multiple freight forwarders, most warehouses in Shenzhen have suspended delivery and receipt operations, while South China Logistics Park and Longhua warehouses are still receiving goods as usual, and warehouses in Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhuhai and other places are receiving and delivering goods as usual.

Some freight forwarders also stated that they are ready to stay at home for a week or even longer. At present, the company has established several collection work groups in Shenzhen. Customers with shipping needs can register. After the resumption, the company will collect the backlog of goods from registered customers as soon as possible.

In addition, some service providers have put out advertisements saying "The epidemic is ruthless, but people are kind, and we directly offer discounted prices to sellers." One can imagine the degree of involution among Shenzhen workers.

Shenzhen residents last night: nucleic acid testing, grabbing food, moving computers

" What are people in Shenzhen doing tonight? Of course, they are rushing to buy vegetables in the supermarket. It's not that they are afraid of not being able to buy vegetables tomorrow, but that they are afraid of not being able to go out to buy vegetables tomorrow. " A Shenzhen netizen posted a video on a social platform last night. From the video, it can be seen that many residents are scrambling to "stock up on food", from meat to vegetables, and the purchase volume is far greater than in the past.

Some netizens questioned, "Is there no group-buying platform in Shenzhen to buy vegetables?" In response, a Shenzhen netizen said, "If you rely on those platforms, it will take two days to deliver the vegetables, because they are sold out and there are not so many people to deliver them."

At the same time, a picture like this is also circulating online. The picture says, "There is no shortage of vegetables now, but once you grab them, there will be a shortage. The superiors asked us to double the supply. After a few days, you grabbed too many vegetables and couldn't finish them and they went bad. I brought in too many vegetables and couldn't sell them all and they went bad. Let's not torture each other, okay?"

After Shenzhen's districts comprehensively upgraded their epidemic control measures, the supply of daily necessities, including vegetables and meat, has attracted much attention. According to reports, Shenzhen's public service companies such as water, electricity, fuel oil, gas, communications, sanitation, grain, oil, meat and vegetable supply will continue to operate to ensure the normal operation of supermarkets (including farmers' markets) that meet citizens' basic needs.

The escalation of epidemic control has put the city of Shenzhen into a different state. Working from home and the suspension of subways and buses have directly affected the daily life and commuting of Shenzhen workers. A worker joked: " Last night, Shenzhen people were divided into three groups. One group was busy grabbing food, one group was busy doing nucleic acid tests, and another group was busy moving computers. The competition between workers has begun! "

There are also hardcore workers who said that they have already packed their toiletries, bought sleeping bags, and are ready to sleep on the floor in the company. After all, the boss said that living in the company will give them a pay raise, and making money is the most important thing.

" Our company just issued a notice asking everyone to buy an electric donkey for easy commute to work ," said a worker, which is in line with the saying that nothing can stop Shenzhen workers from making money. "Going to the supermarket to stock up on rice and food, or moving computers is not worth mentioning. Some ruthless people have already brought their blankets to the company, and some colleagues have even grabbed a shared bicycle in advance, just to avoid being late for work."

For some workers who work from home, they finally experienced what a "fairy life" is like. "I get up on time, open the window and breathe in the fresh air I've never had before, make breakfast after clocking in, and sit on the bed after brushing my teeth..."

The outbreak of the epidemic in Shenzhen has triggered the emotions of many workers. One worker said that he did not know how many companies in Shenzhen were affected by this wave of epidemic, especially small and micro enterprises. In the post-epidemic era, they still have to tighten their belts and not spend unless necessary.

During the epidemic, not only workers are restless, but many sellers are also worried. A seller who is worried about shipping issues said that he quickly gave the goods ready for sea transportation to the freight forwarder last night. Although the quotation has not been issued yet, it is the first time to cooperate with the forwarder. This morning, he got up and sat at home to check the new product orders and advertisements no less than ten times ...

Some practitioners believe that as the domestic base of cross-border e-commerce, Shenzhen is affected by this round of epidemic on some companies, especially small and micro cross-border companies. Many related industries will inevitably be affected to varying degrees. The national fight against the epidemic is underway. As long as people trust and cooperate with each other, I believe that the city of Shenzhen will eventually pass this test!
