Please note that many countries have discovered new coronavirus variants and have announced flight bans

Many countries around the world are currently preparing for Christmas and people are immersed in the joyful atmosphere of shopping, but the epidemic is becoming more and more serious at this time. Recently, there have been reports that mutant strains have been discovered in many countries in South Africa, which has aroused high vigilance in many countries around the world.

The new variant, officially named Omicron by the World Health Organization, has a large number of mutations, twice as many as Delta, and spreads extremely quickly compared to Delta.

It is reported that at least 100 cases of the virus have been confirmed in many countries , including the United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark and other countries, and all of them have people infected with the virus, and these cases are directly related to travel to South Africa.

Currently, Israel has become the first country to completely close its borders to foreigners since the emergence of the Omicron strain.

On November 26, Israel discovered that a person returning from Malawi was the country's first case of infection with the Omicron strain. From that day on, Israel began to ban entry of foreigners from most African countries.

Due to the extremely rapid spread of this mutant strain, Israel has entered a state of emergency, and entry restrictions have been continuously escalated. From the early morning of the 29th local time , all foreigners are banned from entering Israel.

The recent epidemic situation in the United States is not optimistic. Data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that the number of new coronavirus infections in the United States is still rising. Some experts are worried that the Omicron strain discovered in South Africa is very likely to have spread to the United States in the near future.

US President Biden also issued a statement saying that the United States will impose restrictions on eight countries, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique and Malawi, starting from November 29.

It is currently the peak shipping season for Christmas, and freight forwarding logistics in many countries are still busy at seaports and transportation lines. We hope that sellers will pay close attention to the epidemic situation abroad, adjust shipping arrangements in a timely manner, and remind freight forwarders and logistics workers to do a good job of epidemic prevention and personal safety during this special period!
