Shopee and BNI join hands to open up export paths for Indonesian SMEs

Recently, according to foreign media reports, e-commerce company Shopee will cooperate with BNI to pave the way for Indonesian small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs) to export their products to various countries more easily. The Shopee-BNI export program will allow approximately 10,000 SMEs registered in the program to enter open markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Brazil .

 

The Shopee-BNI Export Program will significantly increase the visibility of selected SMEs’ ​​export products in Southeast Asian markets. In addition, the selected SMEs will receive training and education so that they can continue to develop on the digital platform provided by Shopee. The selected SMEs will also be registered in the Shopee Export Program, which will open their stores in the Shopee application, which can be viewed and accessed by Shopee users in other countries around the world.

 

Muhammad Iqbal, BNI’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises ( MSME) Business Director, said: As an Indonesian bank with many branches overseas, BNI sees opportunities for SMEs to export to various countries, from Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam to Taiwan. Buyers from these countries can order products from Indonesian SMEs registered in the program we created with Shopee .

 

Shopee Indonesia Executive Director Christin Djuarto said that through the Shopee Export Program, Shopee has currently helped more than 180,000 local micro and small and medium-sized enterprises develop their export businesses. Shopee will continue to support the growth of micro and small and medium-sized enterprises and help them compete on the global stage. Shopee hopes to become a partner of SMEs, helping them to grow in quantity and quality and making their products more competitive.

 

Through the Shopee Export Program, Shopee hopes to help more local MSMEs enter the global market. According to data, as of July 202, 50,000 MSME products were sold every day through the Shopee platform.
