Amazon and Morrisons to expand same-day delivery service in UK

Recently, Amazon announced that it will team up with British retailer Morrisons to expand its same-day grocery delivery service for its UK Prime members .

It is understood that Prime members in designated areas of the UK can generally receive same-day delivery as long as they place an order before 9 p.m. , with a starting price of £40 . The service is mainly provided through Morrisons on Amazon.

In fact, in June 2019 , Amazon and Morrisons announced that they would expand "Morrisons at Amazon" on Prime Now to more cities in the UK.

At that time, Amazon Morrisons launched the same-day delivery service in the UK, covering cities including Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, and parts of London. Later, the same-day delivery service was further expanded to include Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Leedsmouth.

In these cities, UK Prime members can enjoy one-hour delivery service . Customers place orders online, the nearest Morrison supermarket is responsible for picking up the goods, and Amazon is responsible for delivering them to their door.

It is reported that Morrison is the fourth largest supermarket chain in the UK. Since cooperating with Amazon, it has gradually developed into a big seller in the UK's e-commerce. The CEO of Morrison also said: "Morrison supermarkets are widely distributed, and Amazon is a very popular website among British people. The two are an ideal combination to provide same-day delivery services to customers in the UK and surrounding cities. We have been cooperating with Amazon for more than three years, and we are very happy to further expand the scale of cooperation. This is an important opportunity for Morrison."

As well as Morrisons products, customers can choose from Amazon Fresh and a range of produce from major supermarket chains such as Boots and Whole Foods, as well as local artisans and food producers .

It is reported that Amazon attaches great importance to the "freshness guarantee" of food , that is, all products have a minimum shelf life. If customers are not satisfied with the freshness of their orders, they can request a refund. In order to ensure the user experience, Amazon is very rigorous, but it is understood that since Brexit, all walks of life have been short of a large number of staff. I wonder what changes will happen after Amazon announced the expansion of the UK's same-day delivery service.
