Extreme heat causes large numbers of fir trees to die, Christmas tree prices may soar

Christmas is the most important holiday for Christians and the most important holiday for Americans. The Christmas tree, as the most dazzling "star" of this holiday, is an indispensable decoration for all American families. Therefore , Americans have a strong demand for Christmas trees, consuming about 35 million trees each year.

This year, due to the prolonged high temperature weather, Americans' Christmas may not be so peaceful and they may face a shortage of Christmas trees.

According to local media reports in the United States, many parts of the United States have continued to experience high temperatures and heat waves in recent days, which have dealt a devastating blow to the growth of trees. Many fir trees in Oregon have died. The state has always been the largest Christmas tree planting base in the United States, with about 4.6 million Christmas trees sold each year.

A Christmas tree farmer in the state said that due to the high temperatures this year, they have lost about half of their Christmas trees, including many fir trees over six years old that died overnight.

It is reported that in the United States, Christmas trees are usually decorated with pine trees, Fraser fir, red fir and spruce trees about 2.1 meters to 2.4 meters high. Among the many varieties, fir has always been the best-selling one because the smell of this variety of trees is fresh and natural, the fragrance is also very long-lasting, and its leaves have a layer of wax on the surface, so it can be preserved for a long time.

At present, a large number of fir trees have died due to the high temperature. There is a high possibility that there will be a shortage of real Christmas trees in the United States this year. At that time, many people will probably turn their attention to artificial Christmas trees.

Although artificial Christmas trees are not as good as real Christmas trees in some aspects, they are favored by more and more environmentalists because of their recyclability and realistic workmanship.

Statistics show that 75%-80% of Americans are willing to accept artificial Christmas trees, and the market for artificial Christmas trees is still growing at an annual growth rate of nearly 4%.

In addition, 96% of the artificial Christmas trees sold are made in China. Therefore, the editor hereby reminds merchants who sell such products to seize the opportunity, replenish stocks in time, and seize the overseas market.

It is worth noting that, as there have been incidents in the past where a large number of Christmas trees have been recalled for not meeting safety standards and posing a risk of spontaneous combustion, it is recommended that merchants carefully check products before shipment and produce them in strict accordance with the implementation standards of the country of sale.
