Seller account suspended after updating credit card

Seller account suspended after updating credit card

Amazon has many rules and regulations, and sometimes sellers may violate them if they are not careful, which may lead to the risk of their accounts being blocked. Recently, a seller shared a case where his account was suspended due to a credit card.

According to the seller, he has been selling on Amazon for 15 years, with an average of more than 200 orders per day. Recently, because the registered credit card expired, the seller updated it, but this immediately triggered the deactivation of the seller's account and required waiting for verification. The system message showed: " The account has been deactivated due to inactivity. " The new credit card caused the seller to be identified as a new seller.

The seller followed the procedure to verify the account and provided proof of identity and copies of bank statements as required. The next day, the account was reactivated and he was able to start selling. However, other problems arose and the seller was not allowed to upload inventory feeds, order files or create new listings.

The seller also opened multiple seller support cases, and the seller support assistant said that "the account is dormant and needs to update the credit card again", even though the credit card is already up to date in the seller center. The seller decided to update the credit card again as prompted, and then the seller account triggered a new verification suspension.

The seller verified his account again and then called seller support, who transferred him to a dedicated team. Amazon also took detailed notes on the seller’s situation and said that it was indeed caused by a technical problem. It will report the matter later and is currently awaiting the review results.

However, during the Christmas peak season, the failure will also affect the seller's orders. We are still waiting for the final processing result, and we don't know when it can be resolved. In addition, some sellers in the comment area said that updating the credit card is a long-standing and known failure. Some sellers said that they encountered this situation last month. Although the account was not suspended, the payment was put on hold for 48 hours.

In many cases, Amazon will use robots to review in the early stages. Although this is convenient to a certain extent, the complexity of the actual situation often leads to the seller's account being "wrongly killed". If encountering similar situations, sellers should still contact official personnel in a timely manner to file a complaint.
