Google launches website security tool to help Indonesian consumers shop with confidence

Recently, according to foreign media reports, Google shared tips for Internet users to stay safe when making digital purchases through e-commerce, helping Indonesian consumers shop more safely.

To help Indonesians stay safe when shopping online, Amanda stressed that Google offers a number of tools and methods , one of which is the Password Checkup tool that all users can access.

Amanda points out that using this tool, users can see their passwords that are considered weak or have been used multiple times . In addition to this, the tool is also able to display passwords that have been hacked or compromised and must be changed by the user.

At the same time, Google also provides Indonesian consumers with a tool called Security Checker, which can notify users of applications that access their personal data and provide notification alerts when suspicious devices log in to user accounts. The tool can also recommend users to take preventive measures, including using strong passwords, using a combination of letters, numbers and symbols as passwords, and using two-step verification (2FA).

Google also offers a feature called Password Manager, which allows Indonesian consumers to randomly generate new passwords and store them when using e-commerce platforms . Therefore, users do not have to bother to record passwords manually . In addition, Google urges Internet users to be more careful when shopping on suspicious and unknown websites. Amanda explained that these websites involving large amounts of transactions are usually not supported by reliable security systems and protocols.

Amanda stressed that websites without security systems and protocols are often the target of hackers and cyber criminals associated with data theft. Google will help Internet users ensure the security of the websites they visit through the padlock symbol next to the URL address. The green or lock symbol means that the connection you are using is secure and will protect your privacy and data while you browse the website .
