67,000 products were recalled, and the seller "Amazon's Choice" was also affected?

Recall incidents are not uncommon. It is reported that in the first three quarters of this year, more than 800 Chinese products have been recalled in Europe and the United States . Electrical appliances, toys, and children's products are the hardest hit areas . Many of these products are sold on Amazon. Recently, a mobile power bank made in China was recalled.

There are 7 models of mobile power banks involved in this recall , which can power and charge electronic devices with USB interfaces (such as tablets, mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, e-readers, etc.). The mobile power banks have an anodized metal shell on the outside, which is blue, black or gray in color. Moreover, these 7 products are of the same brand and are sold on Amazon, with prices ranging from US$70 to US$100.

The recall is due to the fact that the lithium-ion battery in the power bank may overheat and catch fire, posing a risk of fire and burns. So far, 30 reports of power banks overheating have been received , resulting in 7 injuries, burns and furniture damage.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled this product on October 27, involving 67,000 units , and recommended that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mobile power banks and contact the seller for battery return instructions to receive a full refund in the form of an electronic voucher and a 25% redemption reward.

The editor also searched the review section of several recalled products on Amazon, and from some reviews, it can be seen that the product quality had already shown signs:

Buyer A: It came with a short and pathetic micro USB charging cable and it broke within 2 weeks.

Buyer B: The power bank gets very hot when charging and cannot be charged for too long.

After this recall incident, the quality problems within the product were fully exposed.

In addition, several of the brand's mobile power banks have the "Amazon 's Choice" label. These models are not included in the recall and are all shown as unsaleable. It is not known whether they are out of stock or affected by this recall.

Quality issues cannot be ignored, and commonly used and personal products such as hot water bottles and mobile power banks are even more worthy of attention. Sellers must not lower standards for the sake of temporary gains, as losing the trust of buyers would be a loss.
