Pay attention to the peak shipping season! COVID-19 cases continue to rise in many countries

Now is the peak shipping season. Just as container ships are shuttling between major ports, the epidemic situation in many places seems to have rebounded. At present, many countries, especially European and American countries, are not only facing the problem of holiday shortages, but the epidemic has also become a major threat to people's lives.

Judging from the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide, North America and Europe are still important "disaster areas", and the COVID-19 epidemic in the United States has always been the most serious.

According to the People's Daily, the US media said that more than 700,000 Americans have died from the new coronavirus. The American Broadcasting Corporation reported in early October that currently about one in seven Americans has tested positive for the new coronavirus, and one in every 469 Americans has died from the new coronavirus.

Today, the congestion at ports on the west coast of the United States is still serious, dock workers are inefficient, and various goods cannot be transported to major warehouses and shopping malls in a timely manner. In recent days, a number of strikes have broken out one after another, bringing greater challenges to the already tense supply chain.

Holidays are peak seasons for people to shop happily, but right now the daily necessities of the American people are basically not met. Given the impulsive and selfish character of the American people, strikes or demonstrations are very likely to break out around the holidays. The editor here needs to remind all freight forwarders to pay special attention to protection.

The situation in Europe is not optimistic either. The countries with more serious epidemics in Europe include France, Britain and Russia. As of now, there are 89,839 confirmed cases in France , an increase of 832 cases from yesterday; there are 1,444,489 confirmed cases in the UK, an increase of 22,494 cases from yesterday; there are 812,168 confirmed cases in Russia, an increase of 9,408 cases from yesterday.

For people in Europe, especially in Britain and France, they may still have to experience an "extremely difficult" winter. A few days ago, there was news that people in Britain and France would most likely not be able to buy festive products such as gifts and toys during the holidays. Now that the new coronavirus has begun to rebound and rage, it is really difficult for Britain and France to celebrate the holidays.

The editor would also like to remind freight forwarders that they must pay attention to epidemic prevention when going out to sea and docking at ports to avoid infection.
