Xiong Wei, Chief Strategy Officer of Cainiao Network, was invited to attend the "Digital Technology and International Logistics Resilience" seminar . As the only invited representative of Chinese logistics companies, he shared the relevant digital success cases and leading experience of Cainiao International Logistics since the epidemic. Ms. Annabel Gonzalez, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, thanking Cainiao Network for participating and fully affirming the importance of digital technology to the logistics industry.
Fast Company, an American business magazine, released the "Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Asia Pacific in 2021". Cainiao Network was shortlisted for the first time, ranking ninth in the Asia-Pacific list, and is the only Chinese company on the list. The list recognizes companies that withstood the test of the epidemic last year, grew out of adversity, and had a profound impact on the industry.
" In fact, since the outbreak of the epidemic, we have become more aware of the importance of logistics to companies in various countries, especially small and medium-sized enterprises involved in international trade. Cainiao Global Parcel Network's logistics product '5 US dollars for 10 days' helps cross-border merchants reach overseas consumers faster with its ultimate cost-effectiveness, and launched '2 US dollars for 20 days' to further reduce logistics costs." Xiong Wei mentioned in his sharing that international logistics is accelerating the realization of digitalization, and the digitalized logistics network can not only enhance consumer experience and help the real economy reduce costs and increase efficiency, but also make the entire logistics chain visualized, as well as more green and low-carbon.

Continuous technological innovation is the key to Cainiao's staying ahead. Take Cainiao's smart order consolidation technology as an example. When overseas consumers use the same address to shop at different stores on AliExpress, the packages from these different merchants will be packaged into one package through smart order consolidation, and the subsequent cross-border transportation will be completed and finally delivered to the consumer. The delivery time is shortened from the previous 30-50 days to within 20 days, and the cost will not increase at all. Some areas can be upgraded to 10-day delivery for US$5.
During the epidemic, Cainiao also used its international medical cold chain temperature control and global positioning technology to escort vaccine transportation, realizing real-time monitoring of the temperature and trajectory of the vaccine transportation process. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Cainiao has shipped more than 250 million pieces of medical supplies to more than 150 countries and regions around the world, and has successfully completed the transportation of Chinese new crown vaccines to Guyana, Barbados, Suriname, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, Zambia, Kuwait and other countries.
The idea of digitalization of international logistics was recognized by the organizers and guests. Ms. Annabel Gonzalez, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, mentioned that "the COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted the importance of digital technology to the logistics industry and accelerated the digital transformation of the logistics industry. This will not only help improve the certainty of the logistics industry under the pandemic, but also help enhance the resilience of the international supply chain."
