Wildberries sales amounted to nearly 540 billion rubles

Data shows that in the third quarter of this year, Wildberries ' sales increased by 101 % to 214.6 billion rubles , breaking the record of 163.6 billion rubles reached in the second quarter of this year. Among them, the highest growth rate was in September, up 127% year-on-year.

 

In the past nine months, buyers have placed approximately 490 million orders on the platform, a year-on- year increase of 136%, and the average daily order volume has increased to 2.3 million.

 

By category, the best-selling products in the first nine months of this year were fashion (224.6 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 49%), baby products (74 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 54%), and household products (67.5 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 118%).

 

In addition, several other categories also have rapid growth, including large household appliances, building materials, adult products, gardening tools, leisure and camping supplies, pet supplies, automotive supplies, holiday supplies, plumbing, smart home , etc.

 

In the first nine months of this year , more than 260,000 new sellers started businesses on the Wildberries platform, a figure that exceeded the number for the whole of 2017. Currently, there are about 340,000 registered sellers. Wildberries expects that consumption activities will surge in the peak season in November and before the New Year. They have already prepared for the peak season, such as developing logistics infrastructure, and will invest about 8 billion rubles to support sellers during the sales period.

 

More than 80% of Wildberries' sales in Russia are made outside of Moscow, so the company is actively developing regional logistics. Wildberries has built about 350,000 square feet of warehouse space, which will not only create tens of thousands of new jobs in various regions of the country, but also optimize logistics for sellers.

 

Wildberries is also continuing to grow outside of Russia, and has debuted in nine new countries and regions this year : the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. By early October, Wildberries' business scope already covered 17 countries and regions.

 

As an important local e-commerce platform in Russia, relevant sellers can also use it as a reference for layout.
