New advertising options: Twitter will show users more ads

Recently , Bruce Falck, product manager of Twitter , said that the platform will display advertising content after the first , third and eighth chat records in the mobile dialog box . Although it is not certain whether this change is permanent, the platform said it will experiment with this form of advertising to determine the most meaningful insertion points and advertising layouts.

Twitter also said it would allow creators to choose the content of ads they see , rather than forcing them to accept ads on the platform . In this case, creators would also receive a portion of the revenue from the ads .

Twitter has been working to grow its user base while maximizing revenue from existing users , with the launch of a number of new features over the past year or so , such as audio chat rooms , ticketed events, creator tools , subscriptions and virtual tipping.

Although most of the new features are currently in the testing phase, the editor has learned that the market feedback for these new products and features is very good and there is no loss of control .

In addition to making money from these new features , advertising remains an important source of revenue for Twitter . It is reported that in July this year , Twitter's profits exceeded Wall Street's expectations and earned $1.05 billion in quarterly advertising revenue . The company attributed this revenue to the improvement of its advertising effectiveness and said that the platform introduced 2,500 new topic categories for better advertising targeting and delivery .

Regarding this advertising test, Falck mentioned that the platform will test the effectiveness of advertisements with different frequencies, layouts and insertion points to determine whether to retain this form of advertising permanently .

As the platform increases advertising , it will also provide new services for users who pay to remove ads . Although Twitter Blue does not currently offer ad blocking, it usually allows users to remove ads by paying . This may be bundled in Twitter Blue or become a separate purchase item.

In addition, users tend to complain about ads near the end of a quarter or year, when ads appear more frequently . If users express strong aversion to new forms of ads , or if they have other negative effects on platform users , Twitter may reconsider the test.

However, given the platform’s need to increase revenue, once it finds the right touch in terms of placement , location, and positioning , this ad format will remain . Twitter is constantly looking for ways to monetize advertising , and showing more ads in more places seems to be a good option .
