Brands were hijacked, ASINs were tampered with, Amazon sellers said it was too difficult...

Recently, the editor learned from the Amazon official seller forum that a seller’s ASIN was hijacked and he is currently seeking help.

Seller forestchi said that he has been selling a handmade dog leash since 2015, but recently found that he could not edit the ASIN of the product. After forestchi investigated, he found that other sellers added other products under the ASIN and said it was their brand, and then changed the ASIN title. forestchi is currently seeking help on the seller forum, hoping to get these "black hat sellers" to leave and regain control of his own ASIN.

Later, the seller ImageAbility stated in the comment section that this was due to systemic problems on Amazon that had not been resolved, that they had a loophole in the system, and that forestchi was not the only victim attacked by "black hat sellers" who exploited system loopholes.

As early as the summer, some sellers had their ASINs maliciously tampered with by "black hat sellers". Seller ATProducts said that the brand "Tap Top" created by it was maliciously tampered with by "black hat sellers" to "Alysontech", and then the seller complained to Amazon. Amazon said that the product page associated with this ASIN seems to be controlled by the brand owner. The ASIN of a brand registered in the Amazon Brand Registry can only be changed if the requester is the rights owner. It can be seen that these "black hat sellers" not only tampered with the ASINs of normal sellers, but also hijacked their brands.

But fortunately, ATProducts did not give up. After a week-long appeal, ATProducts won the game and found a way for the seller to solve this problem.

ATProducts said that the key to solving the problem of ASIN being tampered and brand being hijacked by malicious attacks by "black hat sellers" lies in Amazon's catalog team. They can query the history and detailed information of the hijacked listings on the background, and can also reply to the tampered ASIN, removing the control of "black hat sellers" over the brand and ASIN.

Recently, many "black hat sellers" have used Amazon's system loopholes to carry out malicious attacks, tamper with ASINs and hijack brands. The editor would like to remind you that if you are attacked, you must contact Amazon officials and the catalog team in time to protect your legal rights.
