Russian Halloween shopping situation is released, consumers spend an average of 3-5 thousand rubles

Recently, Russian e-commerce platform Ozon conducted a survey of more than 1,500 respondents across the country to study the shopping habits of Russian consumers during Halloween.

 

The results of the study show that approximately 82 % of Russian consumers participate in Halloween celebrations in some way, with the majority of respondents spending 3,000 to 5,000 rubles on party essentials such as pumpkins, party and themed costumes during the holiday .

 

In terms of celebration methods, Russians like to hold a horror night with appropriate horror movies, music and environment. In addition, respondents said they also like to celebrate Halloween in the office . 19% of respondents said they decorated their house with pumpkins, candles and other holiday decorations ; 18% of respondents attended Halloween theme parties ; 17% of respondents held their own Halloween party.

 

When preparing for Halloween parties , Russians prefer to wear costumes of movie characters. In addition, mysterious characters and traditional Halloween monster costumes are also popular among Russian consumers . In addition, one- fifth of consumers buy various accessories such as hats and wands.

 

About 51% of Russian consumers buy their Halloween items on major e-commerce shopping platforms. On the eve of Halloween, the demand for various Halloween-related products on e-commerce platforms has increased. Ozon said that in October, the sales of carnival accessories (wands , hats, vampire teeth, etc.) increased by 240% compared with September , and the demand for face painting and temporary tattoos also doubled. Sales of candles for home decoration increased by 32%. The best-selling items on the market in October included children's Halloween costumes, Count Dracula's carnival cloaks and Harry Potter robes.

 

In terms of the amount of money spent on Halloween, about 36% of Russians spend an average of 3,000 to 5,000 rubles to celebrate and prepare for the holiday. 28% of Russian consumers spend between 1,000 and 3,000 rubles . Another 16% of respondents said that spending more than 5,000 rubles is acceptable. What's more, 1% of respondents said that they plan to spend more than 20,000 rubles on Halloween .

 

Most Halloween lovers live in Voronezh , Russia , with 25% of Voronezh residents surveyed saying they love Halloween very much and always celebrate it in various ways . In addition, many residents in Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Omsk and St. Petersburg also like to celebrate Halloween .
