Amazon Europe’s new policy! Sellers need to provide this information

Amazon UK announced today that it will update the platform's policy on carriers and tracking information. Prior to this, the policy had already taken effect on the US site on October 1.

Amazon said that in order to quickly receive sellers' inventory replenishment to meet sales demand, the platform has updated relevant policies. Starting from November 1, 2021, when sellers create shipments with non-cooperative carriers, they need to submit the carrier name and tracking information.

Sellers are required to submit carrier and tracking information before shipments are received at Amazon fulfillment centers, but the policy does not apply to sellers using Amazon's Partnered Carrier Program or Amazon Global Logistics , as the platform will automatically generate tracking information for these sellers.

Regarding this policy, Amazon explained that providing carrier and tracking information will help the platform receive inventory more efficiently and avoid delays in the receiving process.

At the same time, even if a product is out of stock but is on its way to the platform's operations center, the product can still be sold because Amazon will track the goods in transit in real time.

The announcement mentioned that in order to speed up the delivery time, sellers need to ensure that the tracking ID of the shipment is correctly mapped to the FBA box ID label. Sellers can provide relevant information in the "Track Shipment" option column of the "Summary" interface in the shipment workflow , or upload relevant information through "Amazon Marketplace WebServices".

At the same time, the announcement mentioned that for package transportation, each box requires a tracking ID. But for LTL and full load freight, each shipment requires a progressive freight number (PRO). In addition, Amazon will also measure the missing tracking information defect rate for each shipment.

Regarding this policy, more than one seller has reported that they often do not have tracking numbers, and even if they have tracking numbers when using logistics such as DHL, the relevant information cannot be updated. Amazon's current information integration function for certain logistics platforms is not perfect.

In addition, some sellers pointed out that Amazon is trying to attract sellers to choose its logistics services in disguise, gradually squeezing small freight companies out of the market. Some sellers even joked that this is why more sellers leave Amazon, and Shopify is more friendly to sellers.

However, joking aside, the editor still wants to remind you that seller friends must pay more attention to relevant policies and follow up in a timely manner to avoid missing important information on the platform and affecting the performance of the store account.
