Amazon Business in India grows at a compound annual growth rate of 102%

According to foreign media reports, Amazon Business director Suchit Subhas recently revealed that the compound annual growth rate ( CAGR) of its B2B platform customer base reached 102%, and its Indian market became the second largest market after the United States.

The development prospects of the Indian market are indeed great. Previously, Flipkart , one of Amazon's biggest competitors, also launched a B2B project Flipkart Wholesale for the Indian market in 2020 , and recently announced plans to triple its business in India by December .

The Amazon Business program was launched in 2017 and has grown from 14,000 sellers to more than 400,000 today , offering up to 1.5 billion products . Through its "Quantity Discount Application " feature launched in February 2019 , platform sellers have provided tens of thousands of products to businesses from all over the country .

According to Suchit , the platform will continue to invest in innovation in the Indian market and launch more customer -related features. Its recently launched Business PAN , as an additional license type, SMEs, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations with an annual turnover of less than 200,000 pounds can register for the service to enjoy the relevant preferential policies of Amazon Business .

At the same time, in order to help companies adapt to the post-epidemic work model and remote operations, Amazon Business has also launched the "Bill - to-Ship " feature , which allows companies to apply for consumption tax credits on the billing address of their pan-India shipments . In addition to these technological innovations, it has also made many innovations in customer experience.

Suchit said the upcoming holiday season is an opportunity for small and medium merchants on its platform . The platform has worked with sellers to curate a series of discounts on GST-supported products from brands in different categories such as smartphones, laptops, printers, electronics, appliances , home and kitchen supplies .

Suchit also mentioned that the platform will continue to work hard to enable enterprises to survive this challenging period by helping them improve efficiency and reduce procurement costs. According to the editor, last year the platform launched the MSME Accelerate program to support small and medium-sized enterprises through the epidemic . Sellers who join the program enjoy exclusive business transactions and bulk discounts. According to statistics , more than 300,000 sellers have participated in the program , and these sellers have increased their customers by 30% and their order volume by 35%.
