Effective September 30! Amazon multi-site updated listing new unit quantity and unit price requirements

Today, the editor learned from the announcement released by Amazon UK that the platform has made new requirements on the number of units and unit prices of listings in specific categories on multiple European sites . The announcement content is as follows:

Starting from September 30, 2021 , Amazon UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain will require that listings for products of the types listed in the table include the unit_count and unit_count_type attributes for calculating and displaying unit prices (PPU , Price Per Unit ).

Any new listings or updates to existing listings submitted without unit digit information will no longer be accepted after September 30, 2021. This includes all product-level data submissions, including via Excel templates and Seller Central .

The announcement also explained why unit number /PPU information is required . Amazon said that the implementation of these new policies will provide customers with the best shopping experience by providing complete, consistent and accurate PPU information , which customers can use to compare and evaluate products during the shopping process.

In addition, sellers need to provide product information, including value ( unit_count; for example, '5') and type (unit_count_type; for example, 'gram', 'meter' , 'milliliter' or 'square meter', etc. ).

The product types that are most affected by the new policy are mainly as follows. Sellers can check by themselves or go to Amazon’s official website for more specific information.

Among them, special attention should be paid to beauty products, daily groceries, health and personal care products, food and beverages, cleaning products and pet products. If the relevant information is not modified and supplemented as required before the specified date, buyers will not be able to search for these products. Sellers who sell the above-mentioned products in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK sites need to pay special attention.

Sellers on Amazon know that the platform frequently launches new policies. The editor hereby reminds all sellers to actively follow up on the latest policies, make relevant adjustments in a timely manner, standardize operations, and avoid unnecessary losses .
