Russian e-commerce giant Ozon signs delivery agreement with Kazpost

During the pandemic, e-commerce and online services have experienced explosive growth. Many e-commerce platforms have achieved strong development with this momentum. Ozon, a Russian e-commerce company, is no exception. In addition to its success in its own market, Ozon is also gradually expanding its business in Kazakhstan.

Yesterday, Russian e-commerce giant Ozon announced that it would expand its presence in Kazakhstan through a partnership with Kazpost (Kazakhstan Post). Ozon’s partnership with Kazpost will increase the total number of Ozon pickup points in Kazakhstan by 20 times, and consumers can now pick up packages from Ozon at more than 2,000 post offices across the country.

Kazakhstan consumers only need to meet the amount of each order more than 5800KZT (about 11.60 euros) to enjoy the free delivery service of Kazpost post office. When consumers place an order through the Ozon website or application, they can choose the Kazpost location closest to them.

It is reported that Ozon's main fulfillment center for Kazakhstan is located in Yekaterinburg, which is the closest fulfillment center to Kazakhstan. The average delivery time of the post office in central Kazakhstan is five days. After Ozon signs a delivery agreement with Kazpost, Ozon consumers in Kazakhstan will receive their purchased goods faster.

Further development of logistics will accelerate Ozon's development in the Kazakhstan market. In the first quarter of 2021, Ozon's sales in Kazakhstan increased more than fivefold year-on-year. Kazakh residents usually buy food and daily necessities through Ozon, among which the demand for baby food, sports goods, jewelry, garden and household products has grown fastest.

In addition to the ongoing development of its services for buyers, Ozon is also improving its platform for sellers in Kazakhstan. Since May, entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan have been able to ship goods directly to customers in Russia, either through their own logistics services or through third-party carriers.

In the near future, Ozon will also provide a list of its logistics partners who will transport goods from Kazakhstan businesses to Russia, helping Kazakh sellers to deliver goods more conveniently.

Sellers in related markets can also pay more attention to the development of Ozon and use a multi-platform layout to diversify business risks.
