At the beginning of the new year, two more companies received financing

Indian AR company Avataar recently said it has raised $45 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Tiger Global and participated by existing investor Sequoia Capital India. The six-year-old startup has raised about $55.5 million in all financing rounds, including some funds funded by the founder and CEO in his early years.

Avataar helps direct-to-consumer brands and e-commerce marketplaces shape their consumer journey through 3D representations of products. Companies can integrate Avataar’s plug-and-play technology into their systems so that customers can use their phone’s camera to visualize products in real size and feel them in their living room.

Sravanth Aluru, founder and CEO of Avataar, said the startup currently works with several companies, including two major e-commerce marketplaces in furniture, large appliances and other categories. Aluru said that more and more companies are beginning to adapt to this technology as they realize the benefits it can bring. It is expected that this trend will only grow from here.

In addition, Amazon's new cross-border e-commerce tool "Link Baby" received a 5 million yuan angel round investment from a well-known cross-border e-commerce company.

Link Baby was originally developed by an Amazon seller in 2020 as a small tool to assist operations. Later in September 2021, Link Baby received attention from cross-border e-commerce companies.

It is understood that Link Baby has four major functions: First, it focuses on helping sellers solve the security issues of stores and listings. Link Baby will monitor the sellers' stores and listings at any time and issue early warning signals in a timely manner; second, it helps sellers monitor all operational changes of the store; third, it helps sellers monitor the situation of competing products; fourth, it helps sellers identify competitors and optimize operational strategies.
