A: Artsy offers four easy ways to buy from galleries, institutions, and auction houses around the world. If you're looking for a work of art, check the artwork page for a button that says "Bid," "Buy Now," "Make an Offer," or "Contact Gallery." If you don't see a button, the work is no longer for sale.

Q: How do I search or filter artworks?

A: You can filter artworks in the database by purchase method, price, size, color, and time period. To add a filter, click on the field name on the left side of the screen and select your preference from the drop-down menu, or use the slider to indicate a range. If you have a feel for what you're looking for, you can also filter works from artist pages and curated collections. You'll see the available filters on the left side of the screen.

Q: How do auctions work on Artsy?

A: Artsy lets you participate in auctions happening around the world from the comfort of your own home. On Artsy, you can bid in advance or in real time while watching a live auction, or you can bid in our curated timed auctions. Bidding with Artsy is simple and takes just a few easy steps:

  • Registering to bid lets the auction house know who is bidding. To register, log in and click "Register to Bid" on the sales page.
  • Browse artwork and request additional information.
