The European home appliance market is expanding rapidly, and e-commerce has become the main sales channel

IndexBox has just released a new report - EU Home Appliances Market Analysis , Forecasts , Size , Trends and Insights , revealing the development status of the European home appliances market.

The European home appliances market is expanding rapidly

In the second half of 2020, there was an unprecedented increase in demand for home appliances as people began to use their home devices more intensively during the lockdown.

In April 2020, Eurostat data showed that home appliance manufacturers in the EU fell 55.3% compared with the same period in 2019. However, in the second half of 2020, production accelerated , keeping total sales at nearly $40 billion in 2020. During the lockdown, people began to use home devices more intensively, focusing on environmental improvement and hygiene.

E-commerce has emerged in major home appliance sales channels since 2020. In some cases, Covid restrictions and increased demand have even led to delivery delays until sellers adapt to new delivery conditions.

While enjoying a boom, Europe is also requiring producers to adapt to higher standards in energy efficiency and waste reduction. With the implementation of the European Green Deal, the energy efficiency of household appliances continues to improve . Under EU standards, manufacturers are now obliged to provide a 10-year warranty on their devices.
