What is Instagram shopping? Instagram shopping Review, Features

Instagram shopping is a shopping feature launched by Instagram. With the help of Instagram shopping, you can share promoted products through organic posts and stories, or let users discover its products in "Search and Discover".

When a user taps a product tag in a post or a product sticker in a story, they are taken to the corresponding product description page, which displays the following:

  • Images of the products in the post
  • Product Description
  • Product Prices
  • Direct purchase link to your website

Here’s an example of how shoppable posts and stories might look on Instagram:

User Rules

  • Users must be selling physical goods and have their account connected to a Facebook Page and Facebook's Business Manager.
  • Users who submit applications can only add their own website domain to Instagram shopping.
  • The Instagram accounts that apply must also have a real and sufficient fan base to prove their "credibility."
  • Do not display misleading prices and product information.
  • Or clearly state your refund and return policy.
  • Categories such as medical supplies, alcohol, and live animals are prohibited from sale.

If your business account or creator account is in the markets listed below and complies with the requirements, you can be reviewed and approved for Instagram Shopping.


E-commerce function access requirements

1. Comply with the policy

Your Facebook account and public page must comply with Facebook's Terms of Service, Business Terms and Community Standards, and your Instagram professional account must comply with Instagram's Terms of Use and Community Standards.

2. Representing enterprises and domains

Your Facebook Page or Instagram Pro account must contain product listings that allow purchases to be made directly from your website or using the Facebook or Instagram checkout feature. Your Facebook Page or Instagram Pro account must represent a store or website associated with the provided domain name. To confirm your own domain name, you must complete our domain verification process.

3. Located in a supported market

Your Facebook Page or Instagram Professional account must be located in one of the supported markets to use the Facebook eCommerce interface.

4. Demonstrate credibility

Your Facebook account and public page or Instagram professional account must demonstrate credibility by establishing an authentic, positive image, which may also include maintaining a large enough following.

5. Provide accurate information and follow best practices

Facebook e-commerce interfaces include but are not limited to Facebook Shops, Facebook Public Page Shops, Marketplace Shops, Live Shopping and Instagram Shopping.
